I don't know about wrought iron, but I remember reading a post where someone milled a chunk of brass stock into a mortar, with a bore diameter the same as drink cans. They made the shot by filling old cans with cement. Apparently it was wild as fuck.

I legitimately want to get into gunsmithing but my shed is full of shit from my family (not underage) and I have almost no money to buy the equipment.

That... That's not how it works.

Buy the equipment and donate it to one of these hackerspaces that supposedly exist. That would be commienism.

Take a Pilot G2 pen.
Dissemble completely, removing the spring and the click assembly. The spring can be tricky, I usually thumb down the inkwell to compress it then slide my thumb off so when it decompresses it pulls itself out. Alternatively, bang the foregrip upside down on the table. The clicker assembly can be popped out by inserting the ink well in from the top.
Now, replace the trigger cap in the receiver like normal, followed by the spring, then the rotatory bolt. Use the ink well like a ramrod and seat the rotatory bolt behind the retention grove.
At this point, the pen is ready to fire. You can either launch the rotary bolt, or load the inkwell.

Just click the trigger cap like normal, this will push the rotatory bolt past the retention grove causing the spring to decompress and fire.

Good luck finding the parts after they've shot themselves across the room.
