Sks surples are starting to run dry so expect them to be harder to find in the wild. Classic firearms sells some yugo sks that are good, but if you dont want anything shipped then you may have to consider a different gun, one that is more easily found. Just keep looking

Find a used remington 700 in the $400 range and you should be fine. They come in plenty of calibres

Was lucky enough for my local gun store to have a Russian one in pretty good condition for 400, Tula 1956 production. Ya just gotta have patience and call up your local store and ask every once and a while.

Nah. Thats an "acceptable" price for a russian SKS with all matching. For a refurb, definitely not more than 400 at most. I mean shit even 500 is kinda bullshit for a SKS, i got my all-matching 53' tula for like 400 like 5 years ago, shipping/fees included. Obviously the market has changed but yeah we are at the point where there are simply better options for the pricepoint.

The only way I see it being acceptable to pay that much for an SKS is if you live in NY or another fucked state where you simply dont have options.

to be fair, people have been jewing russian SKSs for 700+ since forever, generally throwing in some pouches and cleaning kits and all sorts of dumb bullshit and making it seem like they are the rarest fucking thing ever when in reality they are mildly uncommon.

500 is a fair price if its in excellent condition + all matching. But again, unless you live in a VIOLENCE FREE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC state like NY, you can find better options for the ~500$ price range.

Listing says all matching numbers and good condition. The black bolt indicates a '56-58 factory refurb though yes? so it shouldnt detract too much from the quality/price should it?
