Pretty much. There's public land, but if it's innawoods probably hard to find hundreds of yards unobstructed. The desert would be a different story.

100 yards is pretty shit, thats pistol range when it comes to target practice.

Find out where you can go hunting, then just target shoot there. If it's innawoods that a different story though.

Nice, my family has 12 sections outside of barstow tx. Its great for hunting hogs, i got a solar water well and well driller. It made a nice little oasis down in the middle of the sandhills.
