How is percussion any better than flint? I mean, for percussion guns I'd need to buy/have powder and caps, where with flint I would only need powder.
Flint is better than matchlock for raining weather obviously, but what advancements did percussion make over flint? Is there less of a delay when firing?

With flintlocks you don't just need powder, you have to buy flints as well as they get worn down over use. Percussion cap guns are obviously much better in wet/rainy conditions because all the powder is inside the gun and not exposed on the side. They also have much more reliable ignitions and don't create a huge fireball near your face which some could find uncomfortable. They're also slightly faster and less tricky to load because instead of pulling the hammer back, priming the pan and closing the frizen, you just cap the nipple and pull the hammer back.

yes the locktime (delay) is shorter and it's faster to load and more reliable and simpler because it has fewer parts
it's just better in every way

Percussion is several orders of magnitude more reliable.
>>
>faster
>infinitely more reliable
>less mechanical complexity

Truly a doggy dog world out there

Flint is better . You can buy flints and get more shots per flint than caps. 1 flint can last you hundreds of shots depending on your lock quality. If you use fine powder in the pan it will have a more instantaneous ignition. If you want to water proof your flintlock you can wax seal the frizzen to the pan. Persuckshun has less moving parts and doesnt need a frizzen rehardened after every thousand shots but will need a replacement nipple. pic related. Its my jaeger i built with RE Davis lock and track of the wolf stock and furniture.

This. Flint is less of a pain for me, especially since I have a tendency to drop my caps everywhere when trying to fill the capper.

I like flint because it's more fun in my opinion. Percussion is easier to set up, you don't need to shape or position any flint or mess with priming powder. Makes it easier for illiterate conscripts

Caps burn hotter and thus more reliably the powder charge.

More reliable than flint AND percussion. Fucking peasants.
