I'm by no means an expert but I remember my 9th grade history teacher was a tank platoon commander in the National Guard. His platoon had 4 Abrams and they would use teamwork and the power of friendship to achieve their goals.

It depends on the country, but generally it goes like: there are four tanks. The platoon commander is in one of these tanks. His superior (the company commander) tells him what his platoon needs to accomplish. The platoon commander tells the other tanks where to go and what to do.

That's really all there is to it.
