What ate some good strategies for fortifying a medium sized building, like an apartment building? Would something like this be viable in a SHTF scenario? How would you pull it off?
What's the construction of the building? Because wood is a no-go.
What threats are you facing? Angry dindus is one thing, a platoon of regular soldiers doing their own thing in Zombieland is another.
What are you spending? And willing to store until need? Improvise? How many defenders? Physical shape, willingness to work together, follow orders, etc. Other apartments forting up you can co-ordinate with?
What's the area like? Big parking lots surrounding the building versus say, dense woods coming right up to the back of the building, is it a nice, quiet area or is already a 'know a dozen cops by their first names because everyone is a shithead' places, etc.

I came here to post this.
Also, if you're going to try and post snipers, never put them on the roof.
You want them as far into the building as possible, shooting out of a curtained window or better yet a hole in the wall.
Consider what your dealing with. How many doors and windows?
Is it an old building or a newer one?
Brick or concrete?
Anything else isn't worth defending.

Cinder block four stories courtyard with a pool in the middle small houses to the south street and a parking lot to the north roads and a abandoned building to the east and west. Shitty area close by but apartments are decent enough. Threat are large semi organized gangs with civilian firearms and possibly highly organized groups with support from a technical.
Fenced courtyard or parking lot?
