Hey /k/
Just got done with the monotonous and lengthy process of legally obtaining a firearm in the DPRNJ.
Picked up an sks online, cleaned the cosmoline and refinished the stock myself. How did I do?

Nice. I did a linseed oil finish, but im 6'5" so I just decided to Taoco it for the length of pull upgrade.
Anybody know some good chestrig/gq approved pouches to carry 762×39 stripper clips on?

I was thinking about using linseed. I wound up using Danish oil and a Polyurethane finish.
This is my first gun, really just worried about it exploding in my hand the first time I shoot it.

As a fellow NJanon Phil Murphy is literally going to take away all of our rights and it's sad.
The man wants to enact smart gun legislation and ban .50bmg of all things in addition to more mag capacity regs.

First order of business when buying an sks is making sure the firing pin channel is clean and unobstructed. You're also going to want to check the trigger for negative sear engagement.

In my defense, it was a thin coat.

Hirsh Singh will be my vote. Probably a pointless effort.

Firing pin is in good working order. It jiggles back and forth very cleanly.
