Do you think the longer slide rails on the SP01 effect the accuracy of it?

Do you have an opinion in regards to the newer omega style guns over older ones? how different are the internals over current 75s?

Nice it must be reassuring. I had the chance to buy a version of the p-07 that was sent to the US Army for trails and it had all kinds of nifty stamps on it but I turned it down at the time because I was broke.

>>34184462
>Do you think the longer slide rails on the SP01 effect the accuracy of it?

Compared to a regular 75? Probably not a whole lot. What matters with accuracy is barrel length and the actual slide to frame finish. Most factory CZ's have somewhat loose tolerances so they are not as accurate as they could be.

The Orange series of guns were hand fitted and thus are very accurate (and much more expensive) than the standard factory guns and the difference is very measurable. Here's another pic of my custom SP-01 Orange which is pretty impressive out to 50 yards.

If you want to increase the accuracy in a factory gun I'd recommend an ACCU bushing from the custom shop.

>Do you have an opinion in regards to the newer omega style guns over older ones?

They're nifty for the ambi features and are easier to dissemble but you can get a better trigger out of the original style.

>how different are the internals over current 75s?

Non-interchangeable parts.
>>
>>34184412
Stupid gimmick.
Just get a new Wolff recoil spring - maybe a slightly higher power one.
Factory springs were light, and I'm sure age and wear has only made it lighter.
EAA Witness springs will also work.

>>34184537
Why'd CZ discontinue the 85 Combat?
Also, have you heard any rumors about a single stack RAMI?

PS: Tell CZ to stop being assholes and make barrel bushings a standard feature.
>>
>>34184577
>85 Combat
I wouldn't know

>Also, have you heard any rumors about a single stack RAMI?
I have not but that would solve the complaints I have for it.

>Tell CZ to stop being assholes and make barrel bushings a standard feature.
They might be coming in the future but the deal with that is that CZC actually came out with the bushing first and they're technically separate companies so there's an issue with patent infringement.
>>
>>34184577
>single stack RAMI
that sounds awesome, they should also do a single stack of the P-10c. Theyve proved they can out glock, glock at making glock 19s. Now they need to go for the throat and hit the glock 43 too.
>>
>>34184577
>Stupid gimmick.
>Just get a new Wolff recoil spring - maybe a slightly higher power one.
What exactly makes it a stupid gimmick? And what wolf spring would you recommend?
>>
>>34184597
Barrel bushings have been around since at least the Colt 1900. All CZ has to say is "Prior art" and they can do all the bushings they want, as long as they design their own bushing that isn't just a perfect copy of CZC's.
Didn't know you were a separate company from CZ, interesting to know.

>>34184612
Doesn't do anything better than a regular recoil spring in a full-size, costs more, more likely to fail.
Nested recoil springs have a purpose in sub-compacts and other unusual designs, but an all-steel full-size is not one of them.

Assuming it's a 9mm, I'd go for 16lb. Maybe 18lb if I was planning on shooting NATO or +P loads extensively.
Your manual says not to shoot +P - In my experience it's fine to. Don't forget that the Jericho was built to take .41AE, and is based on the Tanfoglio which is built to take .38 Super and 10mm.
I'd recommend against reloads if you're going to shoot hot ammo though, since the chamber isn't fully supported, and no lead bullets if you have the poly rifled barrel.
>>

>Barrel bushings have been around since at least the Colt 1900. All CZ has to say is "Prior art" and they can do all the bushings they want, as long as they design their own bushing that isn't just a perfect copy of CZC's.

Just what I heard from the grape vine.

>Didn't know you were a separate company from CZ, interesting to know.
Yup. Usually CZC can't push out enough guns because CZ-USA is a bunch of buttholes who don't ship factory guns when needed.

>Have 2 real mags and two fake ones
>One of the real mags only holds 10 rounds, but doesn't have 10 round baseplate
>can't figure out why
>Other day one of the fake mags broke
>Spring actually torqued sideways so if you take it out it's at a 30* angle

I wonder if I can fix the fake mag and the 10 rounder with new springs? The 10 rounder just seems like it has an insanely stiff spring.

Handgun runs great otherwise, it's clearly the mags holding it back. Other two run flawlessly and function normally
>>
>>34184681
Start doing custom clones, then.
You'll have an army of neckbeards beating down your door if you start to offer a Space Cowboy package to "correct" Baby Eagle markings and install dogleg slide releases.

>>34184723
I'm not sure why, but Wolff actually recommends CZ-75 springs for Jerichos.
https://www.gunsprings.com/CZ/75%20Series/cID1/mID16/dID91
Probably better to stick to their recommendation, though either will work.
Most Witness parts will fit your gun fine - extractors, barrels, guide rods, springs etc.
If you feel adventurous, even a Witness slide will work, though you'll have no safety on your gun then - I do that with my .22lr Witness slide once in a while.

>>34184741
Check Wolff or Numrich and see if either has mag springs listed for it.

Thanks, I think this one is my best option as far as having all of the parts I need to do a complete spring upgrade.

Performance Pak 9mm - Pak contains 1 each 12 Lb. reduced power recoil spring, 16 Lb. extra power recoil spring, extra power firing pin spring and 17 Lb. reduced power hammer spring. (Stock No. 14100)

Might also grab an 18lb recoil spring too just to see the difference.

>I do that with my .22lr Witness slide once in a while
Where you able to shoot .22lr through your Jericho like that?

Also seeing as how you seem to know a lot about Jerichos, is it true that I can run Mec-gar and CZ factory mags through them reliably? Or will I have to stick with EAA small frame mags?
>>
owned a few real CZs, just bought it Tanfoglio FAB 92. It refuses to cycle steel case ammo, I get a failure to feed every time. normally I'd assume the feedramp was fucky, but it cycles brass case ammo no problem. any thoughts? steel is much more affordable..
>>
>>34184681

I know you worked for CZC but most interactions I've had with CZ-USA tends to paint it as a "we get what we get" situation and not a deliberate choice to under supply when requistioning guns from the mother land.
>>
>>34184855
I clearly remember times when they had the needed guns in stock and other carriers receiving them but they were unwilling to send even a small batch of them so we could finish a few guns that had been on back order for some time.

Then again I dunno man I was just a gunsmith I didn't deal with that stuff just what I heard in the break room.
>>
I only know the CZ-75 exists because of The Lost and Damned.
>>
>>34184827
Beat CZ to making a single-stack to compete with Sig's P938 and I'll throw all my money at you

>>34184837
Works perfectly fine, but it feels weird having a DA/SA without a safety or a decocker. Works perfectly fine for plinking at the range.

No problems interchanging CZ-75, EAA, and IMI mags between my guns. I used to keep track of which was which, but now it's just a free-for-all of mags in my range bag.
I don't have any Mec-Gars, so I can't speak for those.

>>34184847
My default advice for everyone who gets a Tanfoglio or derived design is to get a heavier recoil spring. They all come sprung light, and that's probably your issue.
Also polish the feed ramp with some Flitz.
Try Aluminum case ammo too - I have good experience with Federal and Blazer, and it's almost as cheap as Wolf steel.

Why don't more polymer, striker fired guns utilize the CZ internal rail? Even the CZ made striker fired gun has an outer rail.
>>
>>34188302
to be fair the new CZ striker fired gun, the CZ P-10C is going directly against the Glock 19 so they wanted it to be a direct competitor but better in every way, it can even use Glock 19 holsters.
>>
I've only recently begun shooting and now I'm faced with a dilemma. I want to get into IPSC and CZ seems like the right product for me but after trying out an SP-01 and a Tactical Sports Orange I just can't see myself getting anything less than a Standard Division gun, that orange bastard is glorious. I have the monetary means but would I be even more of a retard than usual if I went straight into Standard division and "skipped" Production division? Might take a while still until I'm at that skill level that I can compete but I'd like to know your opinions and my options here. Again, goddamn that TS Orange.
>>
>>34188343
>>34188343
my advice is to buy a used CZ-75b at a gun show and just shoot that for a while that way youre not spending more than $500 on a gun and you'll familiarize yourself on the CZ platform while practicing your fundamentals on a beater gun that you can abuse and run cheap ammo through. After doing that for a while buy the nice CZ race gun.

>>34188387

Arizona. I payed $480 after tax. I was origninally gonna buy this one (https://www.armslist.com/posts/6837127/huntsville-alabama-handguns-for-sale--imi-baby-desert-eagle) and have it shipped, but the total cost was gonna be $610 after tax, shipping, and transfer fees at my lgs. I just decided on a whim to look on gunbroker before I committed a bunch of cash to pay pal and I saw one listed for $450 that was being sold by a gun store $30 mins away so I called them up, drove out and bought it yesterday afternoon.
>>
Alright, I'm looking at buying a CZ 75. Do I get the B or BD? I *might* carry it, but likely only in the winter when I don't feel like carrying my 357. It will most likely be my primary bedstand gun.

I'm not opposed to safeties, but I don't like the idea of walking around with a cocked hammer on a loaded chamber. I guess the BD is my only choice for a decocker, right?
>>
>>34188512
Its really more your preference than anything else man. they're both good guns. I personally prefer to carry decocked with the safety off, over carrying cocked and locked. For me if i have the time to flip off a safety, I have the time to cock the hammer. otherwise I want to be able to whip it out and shoot immediately without worrying about fumbling with the safety. The other option is to buy the version of the CZ with the Omega trigger system as it lets you switch between a manual safety or decocker on a whim.
>>
>>34188582
Just so I know, the B is safety only, BD is decocker only, right?
>>
>>34188600
Yes, the CZ 75 B is the standard model that has the standard manual firing pin block safety, The CZ 75 BD, often referred to as the CZ 75 BD POLICE, is the decocker model, and the CZ 75 B OMEGA is the one with the new Omega trigger system that can be swapped out to either configuration. some people don't like the Omega trigger system, but again CC is all about personal preference and using whatever you are most comfortable with and capable with while still being able to conceal it.

Liver of sulfur. Get it at any craft store. You can tarnish it to whatever degree you want in a couple of hours - right to solid black.
>Jericho firing pin spring
If you can't get it from Wolff or IMI, it's the same as Tanfoglio's.
https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/113290A.htm

>>34188512
Do you want to only carry with the hammer down and no safety? 75BD.
75B lets you carry cocked and locked, or if you feel confident manually decocking a loaded gun (use a clearing bucket for maximum safety) half-cocked and locked, or hammer down safety off. 75Bs will not let you engage the safety with the hammer down, so there's no concern of accidentally engaging the safety in that condition.
I recommend the B over the BD personally - it's more versatile if you think you ever might "grow in" to the idea of carrying cocked and locked.

For what it's worth, the firing pin safety will prevent an AD even if you beat on the hammer with, well, a hammer. It's a very drop-safe design, it'll only go off if you pull the trigger.

>>34188877
I'm partial to Hogue grips for a range gun.
Otherwise, there's not much to upgrade unless you have specific needs like nightsights or a threaded barrel. They're good from the box, spend your money on ammo.

Tanfos are cheaper than comparable CZs.
The Poly Witness is $270 to the P07's $450
The base Steel Witness is $305 to the CZ75B's $550
Witness Match is $700 to the SP-01 Shadow's $1100.

Real good values across the board. Even the .22lr kit is $200, vs CZ's $400 Kadet (though the Kadet is a better design to be fair)

My 1989 pre-B CZ-75.

Anyone have rear sight recommendations? Gun itself is accurate but the rear sight is old and not adjusted right. I was thinking an LPA adjustable but I'm not sure which one, they say the dovetail on the pre-B should be 0.383 but mine is like 0.34.

I bought a new CZ75 with a significant amount of resistance that can be felt whenever mag is slid into the gun. I can easily just slam it home but if you push slowly the resistance is quite extreme. Conversely when I eject the mag it will sometimes only push it out half way. I have tried factory stock mags and MecGar ones and the effect is the same so it isn't just one weird warped mag or something.

Does anyone know what might be done to over come this problem?
>>
>>34190409
People don't like frame-mounted safeties because they're easy to trip while you're racking the slide.

>>
>>34190447
personally I prefer frame mounted safeties due to them leaving more slide real estate open which is important when your space is already limited like on a CZ style slide. The Jericho is an exception as the slide mounted safety on it has the SPACE COWBOY AESTHETIC.
>>
>>34190417
Inspect the magwell with a straight-edge?

Maybe inspect your mag release, checking for burrs or roughness.

Take note of any wear on your magazines from repeated insertion/releases that seems out of the ordinary.
>>
>>34190417
>>34190541
Also attempt loading and unloading magazines with the grips removed, if your grips are oversized somehow they could be clamping down on the mag, especially if they're rubber.

LPA sights have an oversized dovetail that you shave down to fit to your gun. So the exact size shouldn't be a big deal as long as it's not like ridiculously off. I'm super happy with mine.

>>
>>34190417
take off the grips and get a punch
what you want to do to adjust is the flat spring
on some guns these are bent to add resistance to the magwell
the pin on the top is easy to remove with a punch
the bottom pin is under spring tension dont attempt to brute force it during assembly/reasembly
you need to push up on the mainspring plug a little
what you want to do is take it out and straighten it.
the flat spring doesnt just flop out you need to wiggle it out.

>If you can't get it from Wolff or IMI, it's the same as Tanfoglio's.

I've already tried a Wolff set, and unfortunately the older first generation FS models with the shorter 3.5" barrel don't quite spring compatible with the modern 3.8" version's springs, or even the CZ-75 Pre-B compact spring sets.

Wolff is currently sending me a couple springs to test out, in any case.

"

CZ Custom’s Eric Zinn took special care in putting this beauty together. Great frame work from high cut for a better grip, reshaping the beavertail and rounding the triggerguard for the classic CZ look.

Also the CZ Custom trigger job with competiton hammer, short reset disconnector, extended firing pin, milled for Heinie Slant Pro sights and a beautiful black serrated front sight.

Special attention to the finish is performed too. Beautiful polished blue slide by Eric and color case harden frame done by MJ Tulo Gunworks and hand laquer wood grips.

There is no other CZ75 like this one combining beauty and performance."

Its the Jericho 941r the slide mounted safety model. The grips are the stock black plastic IMI grips, although I plan on putting on wood ones. This one was imported by magnum research with a roll mark saying Dessert Eagle Pistol IMI, it was probably brought in in the early 90s before IMI imported stuff on their own.

>>34194144
I doubt it, there's pretty significant differences in the trigger and sear on Tanfo designs from the original CZ-75.

>>
>>34194144
Overall I am highly impressed with the workmanship of Tangfoglio and IMI on this, its 100% functional and passes the pencil test very well even with its older springs. I have A Wolff performance kit spring set coming in the mail that I plan on dropping it it and i also plan on swapping out the black plastic grips for these (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001TE5KLU/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3D5IVOFVJABC0&colid=38VQGS7HDP1BA), and having these sights installed, as they have the same profiile as the original ones, unlike the squared off looking trijicon ones. Plus I know these will fit my pre 2007 model (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002INGL0/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1HXZIZO910NZW&colid=38VQGS7HDP1BA)

Full-size Witness small frame (2014) and Full-size Jericho slide safety (2009) both have 4 coils on their sear springs, which is strange, since yours has 5 - so even among the Tanfo/Jerichos there's three different sear springs here.

I'm starting to think that maybe the CZ spring will work, especially if the sear pin diameter is the same.

Mine is a little odd. Apparently before 941s were sold in the US, IMI made factory SAO versions.

It also has some threaded holes in the frame, whose purpose I'm not sure about. Possibly for mounting some kind of light before railz were standard.
>>
>>34194709
Interesting, it also looks to have a shorter barrel than mine. I'm rocking a 4.4" yours looks to be 3.8" or so.
>>
>>34194720
Nope, 3.5.

The FS models were lengthened to 3.8" later. and the 3.5" was renamed, and given a shorter frame.

Mine has the 3.5" barrel with the full sized frame.
>>
>>34194729
I actually bought a replacement recoil spring set for a modern FS and found out the hard way that the barrel length on the FS models changed at some point. Though, if your sole source of information is data on the internet about it, you would never know. There are a few old firearms catalogues in google-books archives that are from the late 80's and early 90's that clarify that the older models existed and were different.
>>
>>34194748
[Pic related] stated that the FS and FB models have 3.54" barrels, which jives with what I have. However, that's not how they are currently made anymore. That book also specifies that SAO models were available.

So the new sear spring dropped in fine, and it passed a basic function and pencil test. The next step is to install the new wolff springs when they arrive and do a range test to make sure the sear spring is reliable and which recoil spring is the best fit for my gun.

CZ is fucking retarded for using those engravings. That gun is painful to look at. Whoever designed that needs to be fired on the spot and made a mockery of.

I felt a full sized 75 at a local range and fell in love with how it shoots. Any advice on which 75 would be good for concealed carry?
>>
>>34202975
It's not illegal you just can't buy it from an FFL, you need to purchase it as a private sale.

Cool, good to know. My gut feeling was a no, considering the differences in the sear assembly, but since it fits properly... I can't imagine the spring tension would be very different between them. Thanks for following up.

just need some night sights and a silver cz85 trigger to color coordinate.
The cajun hammer is a dream. No more grit and a semi-crisp break

Yeah it seems to be doing fine. at some point i'll probably order a factory spring from numeric so I can do a direct comparison on which is better in terms of trigger feel. But its nice to know I can rely on many of the springs from a local store to work in a pinch.

While we're on the topic this looks almost identical to my stock trigger return spring, do you think it will fit and if so if there will be any improvement?
