People can either be treated like animals or adults. Considering most adults don't give a shit about their offsprings opinions even when you literally quote unbiased facts at them treating them like the former is often times if not typically out of the question. This pretty much leaves you with emotionally manipulating them into doing what you want or doing the social equivalent of booping them on the nose when they violate your boundaries. One time my mom invited one of her friends from work over to the house, back in 2008 when I was in my last year of high school.
