As a civilian im also not expected to carry a uniform, a radio set, nor a grenades. That means a pack the size of an ALICE small pack or smaller can carry a weeks worth of food and clothe (harsdshell/underwear) and food right?

But the "buttpack" is a Fox Tactical buttpack and is basically an ALICE small. I rigged it higher than my hips so that i won't be dragged down by gravity.

I haven't tried yet but i think i can fit at least 7 days worth of broken down MRES (maybe more Mtn House) in the middle compartment. Clothing in the outside compartment,some med kit set up in the upper flap, as well as maybe 2 woobies and a poncho.

I can add a bladder or a 2 quart canteen, and a saw pouch for extra ammo.


This is an Airsoft rig really but can be used to get the fuck out of dodge if its just 7 days worth of essentials and not some MilSim shit

I rigged the molle for the buttpack so i can flip the pack, independent of the ALICE gear, over my head so i never really have to take it off.

Go to your local sporting goods store and buy a 40 dollar hiking pack. Be sure it has loops on the bottom to attach sleeping bag and foam mat.

Nigga ive hiked plenty. 13 miles a day, plenty of experience with hammies 100 lbs packs and trading posts. And I guarantee you im not packing another ALICE large or those high adventure/REI packs again. I'm looking for light weight
