ISIS fighters are terrorists and the FFL does not accept terrorists in their ranks.
Plus, in order to gather valuable intels, they would need to pass all the test to be a legionary.
The training of the FFL is not shrouded in secrecy, lots of documentaries covering the subject can be found on youtube.
