the contract went to like 3 different Indian manufactures. the plastic and mags are made by a patio-furniture company, that uses apparently the same shitty moulding.

It's worth noting the INSAS per unit is something absurd like $1,000 or even 1700, whereas China offered to sell India their surplus AKs for about $100 per.

They went with a nice post curry poo paint job. In many ways they did a good job of representing their country through firearm choice

the rivets are due to the different manufactures. each INSAS is unique; you CANNOT take two apart, dump the pieces together, then reassemble two working hybrids. that is how poor the standardization for design and build is.
