Costs, maintenance, ease of movement, no use for such a big vessel, structural problems, no real advantage or benefit to counter all the (numerous) downsides
Etc etc

Drydocks too. And transiting Suez canal and a few others. Bigger means a deeper draft, usually.
Does anyone know what the rectangular structures at the stern end of the Ford class are for?

The current size of aircraft carriers is the maximum size that can be built in American shipyards. It is technically possible to create larger carriers, but this was require massive amounts of investment in creating larger shipyards.

Why wouldn't you? Get a fuckhuge floating city with a full size airstrip and name it USS Pax Americana or something. Go around the world ala White Fleet and seed awe in the hearts of everyone who sees it.
Floating airport and AA city come as a bonus. Maybe throw in railgun artillery battery there too for good measure

Because its a huge target for basically any enemy of the states, plus, no one has the shipyards to build it

20 Trillion in debt?
