Relatively new shooter here. I have a Glock 26. Is it worth buying aftermarket stuff for it, or should I buy aftermarket for a full-sized Glock instead?
Also, is there any appreciable difference between the 19 and 17? Is there any reason to have one over the other?
>>34163274
Good idea for a thread, i see no reason why this won't go well.
Here's a pic of my G26
-custom stipple job done by me
-ghost 3.5 connector
-g17 smooth trigger
-xs big dot tritium sights
I'm going to be the grown up here and just hide your thread. A containment thread of glockshit is better than seeing it in every other thread i guess.

The 26 is my edc gun. I have done the same modifications to it as all my other glocks 17 and 19 included.
And if you have a 26 already, i'd say the more logical choice would be a 17 next.
>>34163544
The Glock 19 is the jack of all trades. It's just compact enough for many to conceal but it's sight radius and barrel length make it adequate to run as accurately as a full sized gun out to distance. If someone wanted to buy a Glock, that or the 23/32 is the one I'd recommend.

As if you needed to specify that a no talent, no clue, first timer did that.
Spend more time reading about how to do it less shitty and try again. You may end up needing to get a frame from Glock if you fuck it up even worse.
Any thoughts on Magpuls new mag well flare? I'am thinking about picking one up as soon as they are in stock.

I stipple my g26 too, I also got rid of the finger goves, it feels a thousand times better if hand.

Thanks
Probably a retarded question.
I'm thinking of getting a dot sight on my g19. Do i need to buy any base adapter or anything? Thinking of getting burris fast fire
>>34163864
Yea it is kinda a retarded question. But here's your answer. If youre getting it just for fun, and no serious use, you can get a cheap dovetail mount like pic related
Boom and boom!

Added this rare unicorn to my stable a few weeks ago. I had never even seen one in person before until I saw it under the glass at a local shop, fresh from a new production run, so I hear. The price was a good 100 bucks below what I've seen it go for on average, so my impulses got the best of me.
I had lowish expectations for the trigger and general shooting feel out of the box. Turns out, the trigger is SUBLIME. The reset is short(ish) and tactile. The wall is hard and defined. It's just a wonderful feeling little shooter. Beyond the color-fill I've done, I don't think I'm going to change a thing. I've never shot groups this tight with 9mm before.
tldr: got lucky af, love this damn thing.

Why not?
cerakote slide, night sights and a laser!
Currently carry a G20SF Gen3 and it's my favorite pistol out of the 26 handguns I own.
My hands are too big to comfortably hold any of the mid-size/compact Gen3-4 Glocks because of the finger grooves, but I held a Gen 2 G23 at a gun show and loved it but I prefer .357 SIG over .40 and 9mm personally if I'm gonna carry it. Anybody know if a Gen2 G23 can reliably run a Lone Wolf barrel/spring?

>hands too big to comfortably hold Glocks because of finger grooves
This is so frustrating, especially because I really don't like stippling and I don't want to stipple my G19, but the grooves dig into my fingers when firing and it makes an otherwise nice gun difficult to comfortably shoot. This is the only reason why I had to switch from G19 to M&P9C for carry at work. At home I just Israeli Mexican carry my G21 with a belt clip.
Giving real thought to sanding the finger grooves off my Glock 40. I always hated them and they kept me from buying a glock in the past but no one else offers a reliable 10mm
>>34164674
Same here. Don't like finger grooves but dat 10mm tho. Ended up stippling the grooves. Plus, I like shooting different 9x25 Dillon loads out of my G20 and G29SF but there aren't a lot of other options for 10mm+9x25 that are as easy to use as it is with Glocks.
I grew up around fudds and bubbas, so I used to carry a S&W .357 snubby with an extra moon clip. Then I bought a G29 to have more ammo on tap and still hit as hard as .357 mag while still keeping the size and weight about the same. Now I carry my G29SF with a 4" 9x25 barrel and 10+1 rounds of 125gr 9x25mm JHP flying at 1700fps. It's .357 Mag power with twice the bang and half the reload time. Never going back to wheelguns again.
>>34164782
I carry my 29 sometimes as well but mostly my Shield 45 since it's hard to hide a 29 when your my size.
Love the long slide 10mm, also have a 41 for the 45ACP action. Im always looking out for a 21 slide so I can get a 460 rowland kit for it.
Anyways i'm gonna fucking do it when I get off work, sand off the finger grooves. If I fuck it up I fuck it up.

Was the 1911 the deagle of its time?

Fuck that other guy.
It looks fine, not personally a fan of stippling though.
Thinking about building a glock out of an 80%. Anyone have any experience with it?
>>34163831
Why post a close up of your lack of borders?
Also, ever wonder why no big name pro stippler does the part of the frame where the web of your hand touches?
>>34163831
Like is it the best job I've ever seen? Nah. But it's not nearly as bad as these other dudes are saying. You did fine I think.
>>34163568
Next time you do that...
Take a dremel and carefully polish off the old texture. If you choose to remove the finger grooves, do the initial work with the dremel and then take a piece of wood cut to approx the size of your frontstrap and wrap sandpaper over it. Sand down the remaining material in order to keep things even.
Just bought it yesterday. Taran Tactical +2 baseplates and a Remora holster are on the way, probably adding night sights after that. Might be buying the 9×18 barrel from Lone Wolf too.
