Yeah, I guess that's why they're still being produced for sale in the US with a thriving userbase and healthy aftermarket as well as adoption by multiple first world superpowers for use by their armed forces.

Oh wait, what's that? None of those are true?

>More accurate than any AR15 you can buy

Milspec vs milspec? Sure.
But a top of the line AR15 will beat it in the accuracy department. No wonder, really, the AR15 lends itself better to it.

>More sturdy than any AR15 you can buy

Sure.

>More reliable than any AR15 you can buy

Sure, in the vast majority of scenarios.

>More ergonomic than any AR15 you can buy

Not really.
The stock hinge kinda bothers lefties due to how you need to manipulate the safety.
The center of gravity on the 550 is pretty far to the front. Even the shorter 551SB is still quite front heavy.
Mags drop free more easily on the AR15, making reloads faster.

There is a 751 SB version that can be imported.

- They want a 550 which isn't sold as a pistol
- They're poor
- They're idiots
Second two are probably the reason for most of them.

I don't know, no one knows. The steels used by the 2nd world are kind of a mystery as far as I've been able to find.

That's going to depend on what is acceptable precision for them, firing schedule, what steel is used, etc.

>with a thriving userbase
People are more likely to buy something familiar, even if it may or may not be superior to the less familiar product. ARs and AKs are familiar , so they left the "Weird Mountain Jew Gun" for ol' reliable.

>healthy aftermarket
It's because the AR-15 already has a massive user base in the states. A run-of-the-mill AR15 has that insane aftermarket support due to the massive amount of AR15s in the country, so a company would be better off marketing products to that demographic because they would more of a chance of pushing products, and the same goes with AKs. It's got nothing to do with the Objective advantages/Disadvantages of either weapon platform.

>adoption by multiple first world superpowers
Different superpowers have different requirements. The swiss, having a low military install base focuses on making each individual soldier more effective than other countries. Hence why the SiGs are so finely crafted. They don't have to mass produce, so they can put more work into their rifles which would arguably make them better, in an ideal world. Compare that with America relies more heavily of suppression tactics and Vehicular/Artillery strikes, so the individual does not have to be as effective. Hence why their weapons requirements are of a lower spec.

Furthermore, for a country to take all those weapons out of commission and replace them with a more expensive equivalent would be an economic and logistical nightmare, so it's better to keep all those weapons in, rather than swapping them with an arguably better equivalent. It's why both Russia and the US have been using what are in all practicality the same weapons since the 60's. Also the SiG platform is very popular in law enforcement and special forces, which can afford to field different rifles.

>TL:DR: Economics my dude, your points are of no consequence to the Objective Advantages/Disadvantages of the rifle
>>
I agree so much op. I used this gun in the original counter strike as well as call of duty modern warfare series.

Such a fun and reliable gun.
>>
>>34165217
>Different superpowers have different requirements

As the Swiss dont have the requirement to actually build a rifle to go to an actual war with. You can see it that they rather build a sports rifle.

M16s and M4s are grunt designed from the ground up. They aren't designed to be high performance service rifles.

If they wanted that then they'd just mass issue M27 IARs for the same price as 550s and have vastly superior 5.56 platforms.

Swiss are literally 70% of their country's population. The rest are Albanians and few niggers.

Plus they're constantly having referendums on compulsory mixed-race breeding, in 2013 5% of the population wanted it and they repeated it in 2015 - with 25% voters wanting this. They're gonna repeat it this year, polls say it'll be ~40% for.

America will have white majority for far longer than Switzerland.

Maintenance.

AR maintenance is nice and simple that 30 minutes training results in a perfectly clean rifle.

Most non-AR/AKs require more training.

There's a story from a US officer visiting a UK training camp who comments on how fucking hard the SA80A2s were to clean and rebuild and how the average intelligence of the basic infantryman must be way higher.

Obviously any ground pounder in any nation is clinically retarded so there's benefits in making shit easier to clean but regardless of opinions, it does generally affect rifle performance but with service rifles, it matters little between platforms, hence why most armies are looking at AR platforms tho the US move to 6.5/7.62 seems to have stalled that for the most part.

I have one. It's ok and I love it, but my ARs are far more practical and lightweight..

Which /pol/ thread do you have that bullshit from?

A militia army grunt is, on average, much smarter than a professional army one.

>>34165773
Except it is. Swiss Arms still makes them and sells plenty of the shorter variants to spec ops and LE around the world.
>>
>>34161161
Two minutes in they've already fucked up twice. We speak four languages, not three, and the lady at 1:45 specifically says the guns could still be fired, but the subtitles make it sound like they're deactivated.

Fucking AJ, seriously.
>>
>>34166448
It's the same shit minus select fire and green paint.

Theyre fucking dope amazing service rifles. 10/10 would arm a militia or regular forces with -- but Id rather operate with something lighter.

If I had to dispatch a an armed terrorist in my neighborhood Id probably grab my Mini-14 before my SIG just because its lighter and moves quicker.

Has anyone in this thread even used a Swiss arms? It doesnt seem like it at all

Yes.
A few of us own real ones.

There are at least 5000 in circulation in Canada.

Seems like not many.
We have 2 000 000 licensed gun owners.

Swiss Arms would be the 1% of guns due to price. They go for $4200 new.
>>
>>34155263
Literally the only argument most of have is:
Its expensive
Its heavy
Maybe stop being poor and weak?
>>
>>34167910
>used a Swiss arms?
What does that even mean
>>
>>34167934
I'd own one but i bought a valmet instead, then traded it for a select fire valmet. But this thread really made me want one
>>
>>34167941
Swiss arms is the manufacturer of the rifle, you massive spanner
>>
>>34167986
First, it's SwissArms AG
Second, the point was that your sentence doesn't mean anything
And third, I own two
>>
>>34167910
I have two, they're great. Stop crying.
>>
>>34168004
First, AG is the German word for Ltd., you pillock, it's not part of the company name.

Second, that wasn't me, and it makes perfect sense. An actual Swiss Arms as opposed to the crap SIG USA pushes out for retarded clapistanians who want the SG series of rifles but can't have them because of their retarded import laws.

Third, prove it. If you actually have CH made SG series of rifles, good on you, that means that just your reading comprehension is fucked and not your taste in rifles. If you mean you have SIG USA made shite, then you might as well off yourself.
>>
>>34168004

I think the manufacturer is SAN Swiss Arms
>>
>>34155263

>>
>>34168075
Not him, but SAN stands for Swiss Arms Neuhausen.

The sentence, as it is written, is flawed. It implies "Swiss arms" is a thing when it's a manufacturer

>Third, prove it.
There
>>
>>34168109
Exact
>>
>>34168134
Not him, but I'm Swiss and can confirm AG is not part of the name of the company, just the legal additive. Also, it's pretty common to call things by their brand ("I have a Colt", "I drive a Jeep") and you're being a bit of a cunt.

You massive bellend.

>The sentence, as it is written, is flawed. It implies "Swiss arms" is a thing when it's a manufacturer
It is a fucking thing. It's the manufacturer, the implication is perfectly clear.
>has anyone here shot a daniel defense? (DD as opposed to just any fucking AR)
>has anyone here driven a Mercedes? (Mercedes-Benz, as opposed to just any fucking car)
Idiot.

Because its useless.
Its meant to keep your barrel out of the snow.
Youre not meant to shoot off it. It puts pressure on the barrel and moves your point of impact.

And they rely on a military trained population

And they rely on a useful rifle

It was a 1.5 MOA rifle for me
