What are some of the oldest arms still in active service, or taken out of reserve in a recent conflict?
I was gonna mention the Maxim but you got to it first.
K98 still being used today by extreme poorfags in the middle east.

Looks like a pair of M1910 Russian Maxim guns, used by separatists in Donbass.
My personal vote goes for the Martini-Henry, fuckers still turn up in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
>>34153399
most probably a Ukrainian militia guy, probably pro-gov. It appears to be two Maxims rigged together to a common trigger system + a reflex sight. God knows why they did that, but Maxims are plentiful in post-Soviet states, they were earmarked as state heritage and thus not legal to export.

>>34153609
Nah, I think I see a frizzen on the side, it's a flintlock.
>>34153546
The USSR decided that canceling PPSh-41 production in favor of the PPS-43 was uneconomical so they kept both in production during the war.
In 1946, the Soviet Union canceled PPS-43 production due to an oversupply of submachine guns. The PPSh-41 followed suit a year later in 1947
Also, China did make a copy of the PPSh-41 designated the Type 50. The biggest difference between the Type 50 and the original PPSh-41 was that the Type 50 could only use the 35-round stick magazines.

Now you can make some guesses there as to which ones would still be left over from WW2 that could have been pulled out for that, given that it was a war these things are probably long gone by now.
But I still consider early 90s "modern", and they were using WW2 Bombers to blast the shit out of people in an era of missiles and jet fighters.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-2
>During the Croatian War of Independence in 1991, a few old Antonov An-2 biplanes used for crop-spraying were converted by the Croatian Air Force to drop makeshift boiler bombs and were used in supply missions to the town of Vukovar and other besieged parts of Croatia.[13] The chief advantage for the An-2 was that they could take off and land in small or improvised airstrips. They were also used to drop supplies by parachute on isolated garrisons. At least one was shot down on 2 December 1991 over Vinkovci, eastern Slavonia, by Serbian SAM missiles, purportedly SA-6s.[14][15] Following the shootdown, the flights over Serbian lines ceased, due to the presence of TV guided SA-6. The previous radar guided AA systems were avoided by keeping the airplane's speed below 140 km/h, the speed of objects that radars were programmed to erase from the screen.

Sorry, I really dont have respect for them, they wont live much longer (due to some things I know), and for other reasons I wont discuss I am probably quite abit more keen at "fighting" than they are. This is probably a discussion for /x/ though.
Some things come naturally.
My argument in their shit taste has to do with these fine weapons being used for this, in their filthy hands, when they should be using AKs which are likely more effective and cheaper. Not to mention the ammunition is everywhere.
STG44 is effective, but its also historical, which is why it makes me angry. Things like this should be in collector's hands.

Our had ''8×63mm'' inscribed on it so they had that caliber to back in the day.
Its just an issue with mounting the MAG in the vehicle, changing barrels etc. Not the fact that there isn't any machine guns around. Same reason Germany kept using the mg34 in their vehicles.

I would love using an StG44, especially the full auto versions. The fire rate is so low you can squeeze off just a couple at a time, and actually hit what you're aiming for on suppressive fire ("chase" someone).
Range kinda sucks but in urban fighting it doesnt mean much, its got better penetration than an MP5.
>>34160271
This will come in handy when the SHTF. I have an ability to make people hesitate or even make them lose focus. Meanwhile im in like flint, and for me time is moving kinda slow.
I guess you could say I steal, or vampire, their mental focus and use it myself. I have used it in almost every fistfight ive had since kindergarten, the only times someone was able to react to me was when I wasn't using it.
Combine hesitation, with lethal efficiency on the other end and guess what happens. I think if anyone tried to react they'd be fumbling around for their shit and accidentally drop it, meanwhile they get dead checked. Or maybe not even do anything at all, a blank stare since they can see whats going on but they cant think (ie, a trance).
I can do it at a distance too. Hey I just ran across the street, you forgot to fire for some reason.
If I was larping id be talking about something abit more grand.
I think it also has to do with being able to transmit, or exude the actual energy of a Predator. You can be an operator, you can be a slick shit hitman, but going through the motions doesn't necessarily mean you've got the Energy of it. And you dont need to have those skills either in order to Use it. It has a mental effect, it is intimidating.
