It's a left handed 20" AI AT in 7.62x51mm NATO.
No chassis, factory rifle.
Here's a pic with the thumbhole conversion.

The scope is a german Steiner Military M5Xi 5-25x56 with MSR reticle.
The scope mount is a Tier One (previously Third Eye Tactical) unimount.
The bipod is a Roedale RH50 F/TR bipod with sled feet, which has been changed out for an Atlas by now. You can preload the Atlas, while the Roedale one is more suited for a "free recoil" style of shooting. Both have merits. I prever the Atlas.

I've been debating that on one of my guns.

I didn't have much of a choice with my type 56 SKS because bubba spray painted the whole thing. When I cleaned it off with acetone, I noticed that the Chinese marks were filled in and, honestly, I didn't think it looked that bad.

I have an AR that I don't think I would mind putting another muted color for the rollmark, but I'm kinda hesitant. May be my autism being tickled, but I tend to like having a gun be as not-bling as possible.

Everyone has a habit of saying 10/22. I'm not opposed to them, considering their wide availability of aftermarket parts, but if you want ANY semi .22, try looking at savage, m&p-22 like OP, and maybe some conversion kits for a larger gun you already have.

I haven't found a standard manufacturer's cognate.

As far as I can tell, it was made somewhere in the late 30's and early t's, because Grandad picked it up in his late teens, before he went to the army (and later to Normandy, but that's not important). It was in bad shape before I got it working again. I doubt it's been fired since before he died in the 70's, until it was gifted to me last Christmas by Mom and Grandma.

Unfortunately not, it'd be perfect if it did because it is probably the nicest Arisaka I've ever seen. I saw it clear across the room at a huge gun show. I figured he wanted a crazy price for it because it has all the goodies and it was in such immaculate shape. The bayonet even has a bullet hole through the blade. I walk up to him and ask him how much and he says $250. MFW. At first I was suspicious after I bought it, but I bore sighted it and shot about 40 rounds through it and everything's fine. He said his uncle brought it back. I wish I knew where. It was made at Kokura in late 41 early 42.

its a Williams rim fire peep sight. I had to file the inside of the sight slightly to get it to fit on the receiver rail, but it wasn't bad. I had to replace the front sight, but that was easy. I took out the screw that holds the front band on, and screwed in a homemade front sight. making the front sight is easy, just find a longer screw that fits in the hole, chop it to the right length, and sharpen it to a point as desired.
