3 and a half years old.

>firearms safety
can be taught using a BB gun and a paper target in the back yard at probably ~3 1/2 years
>shooting
after the kid does the above really well for a while, then you can start them with a real gun.
it's going to be different for each kid since they all act different
I think it depends on the kid, children tend to be careless so I would be cautious before letting one handle the whole process of loading, checking chamber etc. all by himself. As for the shooting part, I'd say 6 is about the right age as long as you're supervising every step.

After the first year in school of your oldest child, because you will be teaching your child+groupthink, Use a cheap water fun to practice fun saftey rules and proper stance.
Nerf type funs are about 6+ or something, if they are underage always supervise unless they can demonstrate safety proficiency and teach to lock up nerf funs when not in use or carrying.
I say real slugthrowers/airsoft/bbs at 13 at a regulated group training, or 1-1 tutoring if the first time.
Each step should focus on transferable good habits. Make it fun by using "millenial antics" so they can transfer their knowledge to someone else more easily if their frens ask.
Work has been done, please use and adapt as you see fit.

Not a question you can really qualify in a number some kids 12 others 4. It'll depend on kid. As a parent you will know. It's just something as a shooter and parent you can feel. He's 5 here with a few air gun plinks done. Be a while till more as he is more into it for daddy time the noise startles him a bit.

... So you want them to learn using toys that cannot hurt or kill them.... Surely that will teach how important safety and diligence is... That last part was sarcasm.

Yeah fuck that safety shit. Just give little Timmy an obrez for his 4th birthday then leave him unsupervised. Safety is for squares

Holy fucking shit
>be me
>pretty young,below 11 i cant remember
>inna russian village in the middle of nowhere
>see mosin my family got from god knows where sitting in the corner of house
>literally stroke it like an autist
>grandfather sees me
>oh fuck im gonna get beat AGAIN
>"you touch that thing again im gonna shoot you with it"
And thus the next day he taught me firearms safety and how to shoot on a mosin
My shoulder still hurts but at least he remembered my ear plugs or I wouldnt have hearing to this day
I'd say it depends on how you store your guns,if its not in an actual safe I say teach safety(i.e. dont fucking touch it or you die) fairly young, and actual shooting when they're big enough to comfortably hold what you want to teach them on
Start young and be strict,or end up with a ded kid
