I feel uneasy
>>
>>34134425
how can an AR pistol get so hot that you need that much air cooling? I feel like I"d break it if I dropped it
>>
eh, it'd probably reduce weight just a little as well. I'd totally go for it for a range toy.
>>
Trypophobia as a way of self defense
Bit cruel dont you reckon?
>>
Is that some kind of fucked up lovechild between a SPAS and an AR?

It'd get pretty toasty if you ran 30 through it on rapid fire, at least to the point of 1st degree burns, maybe 2nd degree if touched near the chamber
>>
>>34134429
Gun Jesus just did a video on this thing. It was heavily skeletonized to get the weight below 50 ounces to prevent it from being classified as an assault pistol under the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban.
>>
>>34134450
The chamber and bolt are both standard AR parts. No more risk of going kaboom than any other AR.
>>
>>34134466
thanks for enlightening me. also, check em
>>34134452
you can't trigger me that easily
>>

I was trying to forget that movie...thanks anon...
>>
>>34134425
>standard BCG
Everytime I see some memey LIGHTWEIGHT.png build, there's always some stupidly obvious component they missed that has readily available reduced weight options. It's almost like the people who do these things tend to be autistic morons or something.
>>
>>34134450
>Pass the controller bro!
>>
>>34134701
lightweight bcs tend to cycle too fast
>>
>>34134701
dude also kept the dust cover and trigger guard. sad.
>>
>>34134701
>>34134811
>>34134815
First of all it's 1998 design, lots of "light" parts weren't there back then.

Secondly light bcs aren't possible here because of buffer spring being moved elsewhere.
>>
>>34134811
Then get a stiffer buffer spring.
>>34134815
Fuck didn't even notice that. I can get why people go out of their way to make a stupidly impractical gun if a specific goal is the end-game (in this instance, the lightest AR possible). What I don't get is when people half ass it so that goal is minimized.
>>
>>34134841
there is literally nothing preventing the dust cover and trigger guard from being removed, year and parts availability has no impact on that. the guy who built this was just being retarded
>>
>>34134701
Did you even watch the video?
>>
>>34134846
>Then get a stiffer buffer spring.
wouldnt that just jam up the gutties
>>
>>34134876
Not him but not everyone subscribes to a YT channel and watched the newest upload before it's even 24 hours old

Kinda makes it hard for a lot of folks to watch a vid that is in no way referenced in the OP besides a screengrab with no title, and certainly not linked

OA-93.jpg
194KB, 900x564px
>>34134902
It can be inferred from the OP image that the gun isn't using a standard bolt carrier by the lack of a buffer tube and standard charging handle. Not to mention there is a big tube just above the barrel and gas tube.
>>
>>34134925
You asked if he even watched the video, I'm explaining why that's a pretty unreasonable expectation considering in the OP there is no indication whatsoever of what video it is or that it's even a video to begin with unless you're respectively subscribed to Ian and regularly check for updates and familiar with a Youtube screengrab filename format
>>
>>34134938
My issue lies in that specific users post. I find it pretty unreasonable to call a manufacturer autistic morons for not doing something as simple as chopping up a bolt carrier when they absolutely did. The fact that they did so could be seen from the OP pic
>>
>>34134980
That's fine. I think it's pretty unreasonable to ask him if he's seen a video that isn't referenced at all and has only been up for 15 hours, and was expressing this belief. Nor is the bolt carrier modification readily apparent in the OP, the modified rear portion can easily be misconstrued as a shadow. The gun itself is rather obscure as well, otherwise it wouldn't really be covered by Ian, now, would it? The other poster made incorrect assumptions, but they are forgivable ones considering the vague and unhelpful nature of the OP. Although the lack of buffer tube should be an indicator that something is up.
>>
>>34135008
He doesn't necessarily have to reference the video, anyone who followed guns in the 90s knew about these. They were in just about every gun store catalog I remember getting in the mail back in the day.

I was going to say something about underage b& but then I realized people born in 1999 are of age these days...
>>
>>34134701

Can you shove one of these in a regular m4?

Luckily for everyone modern ammo is not filled with WW2 powder.
>>
>>34134425

Was the AWB a good thing if it got gun companies to come up with zany shit like this?

I bet weight reduction tech jumped a few years forward out of necessity.
>>
>>34134846
goal wasn't to make it light as possible, only to get it under 50 oz
>>
>>34135215
I actually don't know what it does. In the IDF they started that it used to cause barrel explosions so it's not used anymore.

Forward assist was installed because shit happens in combat, ammo is still kinda shit with what's issued, so when you're running dirty in a swamp or a dust bowl, and 1-2 weeks of straight firefights without a clean, sometimes you need to have something to push that round into battery because unlike the AK, you don't have direct manipulation of the bolt you can't slam it home if needed, so that's why you have a forward assist
>>
>>34135439
My m4 jams after firing 5 rounds
Can't imagine how shit it'll be after weeks of fighting.
>>
>>34135195
People born in the 80s could still be too young to follow guns in the 90s
>>
>>34135442
Maybe you should take care of it insted of larping that you're a retarded conscript.
>>
>>34134902
Don't excuse going off half cocked like an autistic sperg.
>>
>>34135439
>ammo is still kinda shit with what's issued
Not everywhere, anon.
>>
>>34135454
I do, it's perfectly clean.
It's just that the bcg is really really old and busted.
>>
> gun design that performs unreliably in dust and dirt heavy enviorments

>Let's cut a bunch of holes in it
>>
>>34134902
So you have an autistic fit over it anyway? You could have just asked about a link to the video or something before having a shit fit you sperglord.
>>
>>34134859
They just wanted to get under 50oz to bypass retarded requirements in the Assault Weapon laws of the era. Also it was a major manufacturer and they weren't dumb enough to ditch the trigger guard and invite possible lawsuits.
This wasn't some goober in his basement looking to make the lightest AR Evar! It was a major company trying to salvage pre-existing stock of parts in a new legal environment.
>>
>>34135439
The problem with a forward assist is that you might be able to lock the bolt without the round in battery, especially if there's swamp-ass or weeks f carbon in your gun. The you KB. If you need a forward assist, you need to pull the bcg out, and literally just rinse the inside in CLP, it takes only slightly more time and actualll y fixes the problem, instead of delaying it until you hurt yourself

Even doing that doesn't really hurt it. As long as it's being used as a race gun or something where it's not likely to get mud/rain, etc.

Something to get more money from tards with too much money.

I won't even run semi auto BCGs due to the bolt bounce.
>>
>>34140325
I'd much rather take 5.56mm out of, say, 8 inch barrel than a P90.
>>
>>34140173
Already covered by >>34135439, all it is is the AR's equivalent of tapping an AK charging handle forward, but that doesn't stop clueless idiots here spewing bullshit about how any number of mild things causing a round to not fully chamber that are solved by a light tap of the FA will lead to a fucking explosion if you dare do anything other than disassemble your rifle and drown it in CLP. You're not even supposed to mash it like the cretins suggest, and even then there is no goddamned way your thumb pressure at max output is going to surpass whatever mystery element is present that will cause your AR to turn into a fucking grenade. It's just sheer, clueless stupidity.
>>
>>34136524
the lotus seeds are edible fool.
>>
>>34140426

Tap, Rack, Bang

If this fails you need to figure it out. If you have to hit the foward assist, do it. Only disassemble if you absolutely have to.

That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. The at 15 has no problem shitting where it eats because the gas rings scrape carbon clean EXACTLY the way a car engine does. But you know what DOES make AR15 shit itself like the jamming memes say EXACTLY THE THING YOU SUGGESTED WITH CLP. You will gunk up the insides with goop master than it could ever evaporate in this fashion
