Not exactly. California has a list of "approved" handguns (I'm not kidding) that you are allowed to buy. Every year they add more random shit to the "requirements" list which now includes microstamping on the firing pin I think. The original shield w/ safety was added to the list before the requirements were changed and I think the newer non-safety version which came later cannot be added to the list so CA owners are SOL for the non-safety version...I think...

Just got this aimpoint pro and mount for an Anon

I had a used PPS m2 LE on lawaway for 325. Although with walther having the new 100 dollar rebate fpr PPQs and PPSs, I just cancelled it today and will be purchasing a new, non-LE version instead. $257 for a PPS m2 is fucking amazing.

My first firearm,picked up my Ruger American Compact today.

I really wanted an M&P 9c, or a Shield, but they did not seat right in my hand, kinda sad about that.

Added this rare unicorn to my stable a few weeks ago. I had never even seen one in person before until I saw it under the glass at a local shop, fresh from a new production run, so I hear. The price was a good 100 bucks below what I've seen it go for on average, so my impulses got the best of me.
I had lowish expectations for the trigger and general shooting feel out of the box. Turns out, the trigger is SUBLIME. The reset is short(ish) and tactile. The wall is hard and defined. It's just a wonderful feeling little shooter. Beyond the color-fill I've done, I don't think I'm going to change a thing. I've never shot groups this tight with 9mm before.
tldr: got lucky af, love this damn thing.

the palm contact and seat wasn't enough on the M&P 9c/Shield for me, I /really/ wanted to like them, but I didn't feel comfortable, was easily gonna walk out with a FDE Shield, but I didn't want to train around an awkward feeling pistol.

I got it used at $650 shipped. Was cool too because the gun was a demo piece, so it didn't have much use out of it. More expensive than your glocks and $500~ range guns, sure.
But other than some of the rarer models, I will agree that $800+ is a bit too much for HK, since they're not known for good triggers.

The barrel "floats" so when the slide is doing its thing the barel os free to hang down untill the next round is loaded and the barrel locked back into place
