NY fag here, looking to purchase my first gun soon. Want a semi auto rifle for general targets and home defense. What to other anons in freedom hating states use? pic potentially related
My Mini-14 is lovely. Don't listen to the haters - you won't regret getting one.
>Remington 870 (2nd hand one from before Remington went full potato)
>Remington 700 (2nd hand one from before Remington went full potato, also the only gun you should have an optic on, also that optic should be a vx2)
>Ruger 10/22
>Ruger security 6
>Whatever the fuck tickles your fancy in a medium sized cartridge (I personally suggest a CZ 527)
Buy these ^^^^^^^

This. Mini is a great rifle, reliable action, easily disguised as a fudd gun if you get a wooden stock.
SKS is legal and you can find a pretty good quality one for under 500.

>Not having a buddy in PA
Look up the "receiver spur" grip if you want to build an AR without the stupid crutch stock
>>34131273
>>34131634
honestly QC aside, it has no fucking reason to be priced with medium quality ARs, why should a rifle that has no objective value over an AR-15 cost 800 dollars new? its a fucking rip off

>Saigas if you can find them
>Mini 14's and 30's
>M1A's if you're looking to spend a lot of dosh
>SKS if you can find one that's not bubba'd for a reasonable price
>M1 carbines if you don't mind ordering its special snowflake ammo online
All of these are decent alternatives to cucked AR's. The M1 carbine is pretty decent for home defense too.

So much this cheap (relatively) and works great with an A2 stock. Honestly had a harder time finding a compliant upper (time poor with the overtime) that wasn't turbojewed

Online ammo orders are illegal in many of the ban states. Some still deliver apparently but I just have a gunstore order for me and shill the fuck out of their store at my range to send business their way

There is also the Fightlite SCR but they are expensive and last I heard there was a waiting list.

Really? Why?

Mix of only game in town, low production/distribution capacity, and high demand. Ends up being cheaper to build a spur grip with an a2 stock and featureless upper by 100-300 bucks on the rare occasions anyone has one to sell. Also most of upstate doesn't enforce the safe act outside of the state police anyway

If you're looking for a home defense weapon, I cannot recommend the M1A. Don't get me wrong, I love that rifle, but unless you live in the middle of nowhere with no neighbors, a .308 is not what you want for home defense. It'll punch through drywall like it's not even there.

They need to be cranking those things out as fast as they can. It's really the best solution to buying a new AR in CA.

Sadly they do not so rebuilds or new builds for most. Sad as there are awesome stock options for the scr
In MD vz 58 is the best choice.

Get with the times, man.
I'm hoping that Duffy's is able to get a clarification from MSP about the Vepr FM 5.45 now that getting an SLR-104 is near-impossible.
Either way, you're a fucking cuck if you spend the $700+ that VZ-58's are going for on a new one.

This.
Also, if you're looking for a HD weapon in a cuck state, look at a Vepr 12 any of the other more expensive or less reliable semi-auto shotguns that are out there.
We should be thankful that these weapons that used to be considered Class III destructive devices were able to slip through the cracks to seaily. The ability to magdump 10 rounds of 00 buck is more than enough to drop any intruder you'd encounter, up to and including Andre The Giant.

>why should a rifle that has no objective value over an AR-15 cost 800 dollars new?
Because people will pay that much money for it.

It's sad how they failed top capitalize on a great idea like that. The SCR would do well in NY if they made it available and marketed it.
But as was said, SAFE Act is only enforced in a few areas (Unless you're being an idiot and draw attention to yourself) and a lot of people know someone with land or just drive to PA to shoot.
>>34131750
Pro tip, you. Can't find them under 500
>>34133358
BECAUSE OF BAN STATES
>>34131750
if you could find an sks 500 or below in NYS i'd suggest buying it.
get a bar mk3 dbm
Could always just get a set of Allen keys and a new mag release spring for an ar.
