And yea, 450 for a barrel is a shitton, even worse if I have to get a second for a mod upper to go with the mod 1, especially when they're completely covered by rail. I'll probably end up using some cheap medium contours unless I can find SPR BA

Ok, I know some of you fucks are poorfags, like I, even though you don't post your WASR because well, I can't blame you when you are drowned by much nicer looking arms. What do you anons think? Should I buy a used SLR 107FR or a WASR/Finnish M39? I got a hard on for folding stocks so that'd be a thing I'd have to get for the WASR but by then I'll be a hundred or two from an SLR depending on the deal. I also am keeping in mind the rising prices of these Finnish mosin nagants. Anyone's opinion is valued. I'll even grudgingly accept the "poorfag!/ >poorfag" posts.

So, under 922r laws you technically need like 10 US parts if you want to make any change to a Norinco SKS or AK.

However, it's only if you modify it that the legal issue arises.
If you buy it pre-modified, and they have no way to prove you didn't, you can't get in trouble for possession.

My question is that if you modify it so that an SKS or single stack AK can take 30 round magazines, is it then illegal every single time you remove/put in the magazine.

One of them with a magazine in that the feds couldn't prove you made wouldn't be illegal.
But say you take the mag out to reload it and put it back in in front of a fed, would it then be illegal?

Or does that not count as manufacturing?

I'll indulge this, this one time.

The insertion of a magazine does not constitute manufacturing, and if a rifle can be brought into compliance with a mag change it is not considered "non-compliant".
So even if you only have foreign mags, if it can be brought into compliance with a US mag, it's compliant.

It is also not illegal to own a gun that is not 922r compliant, just to manufacture one.
They would actually have to observe you doing what they define as "manufacturing", and then prove it in a court of law.
Which has never happened, because it'll get tossed.
922r is based on fear compliance, and completely and hopelessly unenforceable.

Maybe in 20 years, lmao. In the meantime, what would a 20 year old do with a dozen rifles? Also yeah, I've been blogposting about this shit for over a year at this point. The original mindset was that I was going to sue the hospital for malpractice based on what my grandmother had told me and the lawyers about what happened (I wasn't there until a day after SHTF). When the lawfirm that was going to handle it got their hands on the doctors and hospital it turned out that my grandmother had lied her ass off about what happened. She had said that they denied my mother certain treatment and it turned out that, according the hospital, my grandmother was there with my mom and had actually escalated things, forced my mom to leave, all in all which lead to my mother's death.

Lel. She's just mentally ill and that's what happens. My mom went into the hospital complaining of chest pains (which would later turn out be a series of cardiac failure/trauma/whatever), the hospital wanted to do some tests but they didn't do them "fast enough" so my grandmother freaked the fuck out on them and then left with my mom even though my mom was barely able to stand on her own. The next day (a Friday) I'm driving back home from college for the weeend, I try to call my mom, no response, etc. Then I get a call from my grandmother explaining that my mom was in the hospital (again) and this time it was worse (mind you no one told me what had happened the day before). Over the next month or so my mom was in another hospital, they sedated her and tried to do as much shit as they could but because she didn't get treatment in the first 24 hours after the first one she was beyond saving.

TL;DR: mentally ill grandmother acted like a mentally ill crazy person, forewent my mother's emergency medical treatment, and inadvertently killed her

I try not to think about it. I'm just left here pissed off about it all still. I'm the only child of a single mom so literally the only close person left to me is my crazy grandmother, and my mom's stepdad. The latter is fine but being stuck with the person whose bullshit that my mom dealt with her whole life, the constant emotional and physical abuse, was also what ended up killing her.

I've waited too long for a decent low-skill job given my year and a half employment gap and I'm not sure if I went back to school what I'd do it for since even before all this I was fucking up, my grades failing, and I was dealing with what I guess would be depression. M8, I can't tell you what to do but I can tell you the vast majority of mental health care providers aren't out to declare you suicidal or have you institutionalized if they can avoid it. Two of the most basic assessment questions are "Do you have thoughts of suicide?" and if so "Do you have a plan to carry that out?" If you can truthfully answer no to those questions and you aren't at risk for violence for yourself/others then you don't have much to worry as far as losing your rights go. If you need help, I can only ask you to please seek it out.

Lmao, I don't remember more than a handful of things before middle school. I'm 99% sure she sexually molested or something when I was a kiddo and my mom and I lived with her when I was 2/3 years old. A lot of stuff that I keep down 99% of the time, fuck. I remember when I was 8/9 years old some of the stuff she had put in the back seat at poked some holes in the back of the passenger seat in her car (she's a horrible hoarder and would literally having piles of shit back there), anyway, after she cleaned out the car and she took me to a Toys R Us and bought me a transformer, she found the holes that her shit had left. Of course her first though was that I had been stabbing the back of the seat??!? so we spent 30 minutes in a wallgreens parking lot as she screamed at me and tried to grab my new toy so she could smash it on the pavement, lol

When you're depressed enough it can be hard to motivate yourself even to do things you used to consider leisure activities, even moreso things that will improve your life. That's why it's so often referred to as a spiral. If you don't have someone there to pull you out it can just get worse and worse.

We had a dude at my school literally get caught stealing police bait bikes on campus and kept his contract.

If you're face to face then I wouldn't worry, just be safe, only thing to worry about is potentially something is wrong with the gun. But if you're in person you can inspect it, and rust isn't the end of the world anyways.

A bill of sale is the official paperwork declaring the transfer of assets. An invoice is not specific on whether or not the client has paid yet. A signed bill of sale works as a receipt whereas an invoice does not. The bill of sale is proof that both parties agreed for the transfer, and details what the transfer was.

Just print one off the internet.
It's not like they matter though.
90% of them end up in the trash or a pile of unsorted paperwork that eventually gets thrown out.

The only thing it would be useful for is if,
>you were the original purchaser of the rifle within the last 7 years (that's how long FFLs keep your paperwork)
>You sold to a guy in the local area
>he immediately went out and shot somebody and the cops found the gun
>the cops found it was sold to you recently
>You say "naw I sold it to this guy" with the paper

If you don't have a bill of sale nothing will happen to you either.
As long as you weren't the murderer they can't pin a single thing on you.
It just lets cops know that they shouldn't be wasting time questioning you in regards to the crime.

If you got the gun in a private sale, moved away from the local area it was bought in, or got it used there's pretty much no way it would ever come back to you.
Again, even if it did you're fine because nothing you did was illegal.

People are way too hammer about what amounts to selling a tool to someone else that wants your hammer.
Just a tool my guys.

There's a big database of stolen gun serial numbers.
Call them up and be like "Hey, I'm about to buy a rifle but would like to check the serial number to see if it's stolen."
99% of the time they'll check the number and tell you it's safe or stolen.

The other 1% they're just lazy and don't want to do any work.

Noice. Both early top cover versions? Best be postn some pics when it gets in.
Also, are deacts really that hard to get in Russia? I'm still searching for a 74M deact or at least barrel components from one (to get juicy unmolested punch press marks) and am getting ghosted by pretty much every Russian I ask. Either no response once i get to brass tacks, or they tell me everything available is out of spec junk Izhmash uses only for mock builds and junkers. I see them come up so so on Guns.ru, but idk. Any input or advice? For context, I'm the guy that emailed you a few months ago from hushmail, if you remember at all.

Hey I never told you this but there's a guy a work with who's a major stuck up dick all he time and those SCROTE AKG keys I stole from his keyboard at work when he went home early one day, and the next day he freaked out and threw a huge temper tante and unironically REEEd about someone tampering with his keyboard. He spent a good day or two trying to figure out what it meant with the letters that were missing like it was a secret message against him when in reality it was because of gay AK picture memes and because I don't like him
>>
>>34126376
Not that guy, but go with GT if you can. That shit says it's non-corrosive, but it left small pits in my piston, crown, and rusted my gas tube a little bit.
It didn't affect the functionality, but affected resale value.
I'm sure if you treated it like corrosive, it'd be fine though.

Just food for thought.

I dug around the forums trying to identify the "2nd" early type without the bottom ridge. Curious that they came on earlier Saiga imports. I'm somewhat convinced they are military, and they just shelved them when the bottom edged ones came along. That period of 74m/100 development is interesting and tough to follow. There doesn't seem to be an strong correlations except perhaps push button rods and slotted stocks.
>>
>>34126464
Didn't they bump the thickness up when switching to smooth? Maybe without the bottom ridge was the first style then they decided to make it less loose. Idk there's no way to really know.

(I don't think they'd make a special one just for saigas)
>>
>>34126447
I won't buy GT in 545 because I want that long boat tailed needle bullet with the big air space up front to make it yaw crazy fast. That's a HUGE part of the 545 draw for me.
It's the only brand I'll touch in 762x39 though, because it's got a really fast yawing boat tailed bullet.
Also, I've been shooting that barnaul stuff from a spam can and had no problems. So unless there's some confirmed mix-up in primers, I think some weird circumstances may have caused your problems. But it's happened to people before with mixed up 762x39 klimovsk batches.
>>
>>34126557
All I know is that I treat all of my rifles the same, and I've never had problems with pitting from any other cartridge.
Use that information as you will.

I still have a can stashed for "rainy day" reasons, but I'll only use GT at the range from now on. I don't need the yaw on cardboard or steel targets.

That's unnecessary though, you don't need to clean that often. It won't hurt the gun if it's dirty. The only time I ever clean my guns is after I shoot any corrosive, every few thousand rounds if I'm frequently shooting that gun, or if I don't think I'll be shooting that gun for a while I'll clean it before locking it up in the safe

I don't clean my slavshit very often, especially now that I'm not shooting 7n6 anymore. I shoot them often enough so it's only in between every 2k rounds or so
>>
>>34126777
>Shit man i clean my rifle after evertime shooting

I usually clean once every 3-4 months of use, or 2,000 rounds, whichever comes first.

As the other anon said, military experience has shown me that over cleaning leads to premature wear of protective finish.

I've seen some really stupid shit to get off a little bit of carbon just to turn in a rifle bone dry.

That may not be a case of over cleaning so much as improper cleaning, but still, you're not doing your firearms any favors by cleaning it every range trip for the same reason you wouldn't really be doing your car any favors by changing the oil every 500 miles. Shit's just not necessary.

Now lubrication is another story. Lube as much as you want.
