Don't fucking waste your time save up more and get a FNAR
>>

This.
>>
>>34121604
receiver is probably aluminum
>>
>>34121604
the fal sucks just build an ar10 probably less than 700 bucks
>>
>>34121604
depends on the receiver, probably.

>>34121689
furniture is cheap, .308 doesn't all cost that much, warranty?
>>
>>34123956
*probably not
>>
>>34121604
Who built it? That's the only question.
>>
depends upon what company made the receiver and who built it.

>enterprise receiver
>century build
pretty much always going to be a shit rifle if its one of those two. otherwise thats 1/2 the usual price of an FAL, and you can probably resell for what you paid if it turns out to be shit.
>>
Here's a list of common FAL builders

FN, imbel, steyr
Arizona response
DSA
Entreprise Arms
Century (good parts assembled badly)

Anything else is probably crap.
>>
>>34125120
Entreprise is hit of miss. They made some good receivers.
some even people made good rifles out of some of their bad ones.

Century are basically parts guns. Assuming they didn't destroy the quality parts they started with.
>>
>>34121604
Fucking where?

Have not heard that in a long time.
>>
>>34121604
>$579 dollaridoos for a FAL
The price alone is a red flag as good FAL rifles usually go for around $1000. If it's an original FN Herstal it might even be double the price if it's in good condition.
>>
Tbh this is the price of a decent reciever. You could just buy the rifle see how it shoots then if it is shit swap parts on the reciever with a better parts kit and still prob be under a 1000$
>>
>>34121604
are you in Canada?

Are you in the states?

Then no

Century used decent parts, but they put them on bastard inch/metric hybrid receivers thry commissioned from IMBEL, and shit gets weird when you start mixing inch and metric parts.

Some Century FALs are great, many are 'eh,' and some will try to blow up in your face. Buying one is essentially like playing Russian Roulette with a stack of $600.

OP, if I were you personally I'd avoid it and just buy an IMBEL parts kit from ARS and save up for a DSA or IMBEL receiver if you really want to get into the FAL game. They're really not all that hard to build.
>>
>>34125585
What would I expect to spend for a imbel receiver and parts kit gun? I'm having fal lust and I can't decide between having someone build vs buying.
>>
>>34125468
Like seriously though where?
>>
>>34127839
Samefag looking for advice, haven't seen a /brg/ in a few days.
>>
>>34121689
Yes its actually a really good deal because even if the receiver is a piece of shit hesse you have a parts kit, a barrel, a mag or two, and all the 922r parts so the builder you take it to (because I know your ass can't build this shit) will accept it.

>>34128184
>>34127839
In stock parts kits are in the $600 through $700 area, sometimes you can find lower priced ones with no barrel cheaper. Barrels are minimum $200 though.

An Imbel receiver will run you about $500 if you get in on a group buy so if you buy one secondhand expect to pay a premium markup.

Other receivers run the risk of being not accepted by your builder or incurring an extra charge if they do because most other receivers suck. DSA is about your only other safeish bet.

Finally of course, the builder fees which vary greatly. Oh and don't forget a builder will make you buy those 922r parts, they're not gonna risk their livelihood for you because you want to be a cheap ass.

>>34125585
there was nothing wrong any Imbel receivers, century arms didn't have custom made imbel receivers that fit both inch and metric as you make it sound. They did ghetto rig inch and metric parts onto metric receivers though making hybrid fals, get your shit straight.

in short Op, buy it its a good deal and you'd be an idiot not to.

308 Costa about 50 cents for brass, and 30 something cents for steel. Probably best rifle to shoot 308 is an AR10. Mine doesn't like steel cased and will eventually jam hard, and it performs terribly with PMAGs. FALs are notorious for shredding brass casings, so it's not great if you are into reloading. AKs chambered in 308 probably will be less accurate due to the piston, and non free floating barrel, but I don't own one nor have I read up on those specifically.

>>34133257
The battle rifle that fucks brass is the g3 dumbass. Fuck. No one cares about your fucking rifle.
