I was a k9 handler. I met another handler in Iraq with a glass eye from being blown the fuck up. She fought to stay in and redeployed in 07. We got sent out to two different infantry units but every once in a while I'd meet someone at the COP or FOB that knew her. No one had anything bad to say about her.

I agree, regular security forces is for the birds, k9 is where all the better deployments and fun stuff is at.

Little fact before some faggot goes on a interservice rant. Every single dog handler in the DOD regardless of branch is trained and follows USAF AFI for military working dogs. There is no difference between any k9 and they are completely interchangeable. That's why you'll see navy and air force k9 attached to army and marine infantry units.

Same k9 guy here. I was AF, it's a sweet gig. Everyone from the grunt to the four star loves k9. My little brother is in k9 school right now, he had to go army though because it's entry level. The air force made it pretty hard to get accepted into without doing peasant security forces shit first.
