I tried a dealer first, it's in the greentext. He's also the only gunshop within 70 miles of me. I was in there last month asking about a 104 but they wanted $1100 before sales and "use" tax. I really want a slr104 myself. Back when I first moved out of a shit state and was looking for a rifle, it came down between a PTR91 and the 104. I ended up going for the PTR becasue ammo was easier to get and much like OP, the few good deals I found on 104s on Armslist all fell through and I didn't feel like paying dealer markup. I finally got to shoot one at Nuggetfest and loved it. Now I'm kicking myself for not getting one.

I thought it was their most popular model. Almost everyone I've met who's owned an Arsenal owned a 104fr. If I remember correctly they said they had to focus on military contracts. They did this back in 2015 and had rifles back in stock a little over a year later. They're just creating artificial scarcity to drive up prices and it works. 8 years ago they were under $800, now they easily go for $1100.
