It's kind of like Remington. Old models are spot-on, and the only reason anyone buys from them anymore is the last echoes of word-of-mouth that they're still that good (they aren't). Quality control is a mess, and customer support/service is condescending/unresponsive/unhelpful. Do yourself a favor and buy a cheaper, more well-made, more reliable 1911. There ought to be a 1911 buyer's guide floating around on /k/ or the wider Internet somewhere.
