I have a 686 Plus, and love it, but they really don't work all that well with speedloaders compared to a gun with a 6 round cylinder

that's the ticket. would be a great 1st gun for a kid.

the internals are what you'd expect from a lever, but are practically maintenance free. The lever is short throw, obviously, really quick and slick for followups.

I really really like it, more accurate than the 10/22, plus levers give me that cowboy feel with the benefits of the Ruger rotary mag.

I so desperately wanted one, but at the last minute my dad talked me into going with a 627 instead. I personally think the 686 looks better, fits my hand a bit better and points better, but the eight shots and ability to use moonclips means that the 627's practicality won out.

Someday I'll come back for that 686+. Having already bought the 627 for my hike gun, there's now no reason to get it, but....someday.
