Hi /k/. I've never bought a gun before and I know almost nothing about guns. I'm looking to buy a shotgun, any suggestions for a first timer? Budget is between $100-200, nothing too fancy.
Pic related, it's an H&R Pardner Pump Action shotgun. I've been thinking about this one.

Go to pawn shop and buy a moss 500 or old browning or remington.
>>
>>34102181
Maverick 88 is another solid choice
>>
>>34102169
If you are planning on buying new, then the Pardner is a good choice alongside the Maverick 88. If you are willing to put a bit more love into an older used gun then do what >>34102181 said.
>>

I'd look at the Mossberg 88. It's pretty good to go
>>
Just a heads up, target load shells cost 30 to 50 cents each. #00 and slugs cost can around $1 each, some less and some more.

Any reason why you want a shotty in particular? Sheet/trap, home defense, range toy, hunting birds/durr, other reasons?

Listen to the previous posters. The low-cost mossbergs are the way to go.

Mostly just defense. I feel like something small and efficient would be good. Also I just like shotguns in general.

So most people agree the Pardner, in addition to Mossbergs and Mavericks, is a good choice.

I had one of those. Rock solid. Perfectly reliable. Sold it because I prefer my Mossberg due to the tang safety, short reach slude release and the elevator is out of the way when topping off the magazine tube. Mossberg is also lighter so it points better, but it does kick more.

That's all ergonomic preference, the H&R was far more solidly built.

I got a winchester Sxp used with a set of chokes for 150. Works great for me never had any complaints

>>34104515
Just keep the default stock if you get the H&R. It shoulders really nice. You'll see if you finger fuck one before buying.

Negro, where are you shopping that target loads are that expensive? 2 1/2 inch target loads are cheaper than 9mm.
