I've had a pretty good experience with the SIG Romeo7 so far. Got about 400 rounds through my AR with it and haven't had any problems.

I'd consider it a fairly affordable budget type optic at $299 Had it about four months.
>>
>>34102162
My Vortex has been just as reliable as my RMR.
>>

Aimpoint PRO. If you want something different take a look through a trijicon mro or rmr.

how fucking old are you? 60?

I have got over 10k rounds on a Vortex Spitfire 3x. Its a damn solid optic, good glass, and sturdy.

The only downside is the weight, and it eats batteries.

I'd look at the Vortex Strike Eagle. 1-6, has a nice reticle. I've used one for 3 gun for a little over a year and I love it.

Get vortex out of any of those.
Really, look for used aimpoint, trijicon, elcan, some leo, some Nikon, (do research on those two). Old Zeiss.
Vortex has an unbeatable warranty.
Aimpoint and trijicon last forever.
Just got a rmr for 200$ from eBay.
Bought a aimpoint comp m4 for 150$ and it should be here tomorrow.
>>34102162
Cheap optics are not stupid. Some scopes that are solid are always worth it to reach out and touch something. People have been doing distance shooting since before you were born son.

>>34102426
That's good to know, I've handled vortex and I love the stuff they make. Can't beat the warranty tho.

20 inches doesn't mean shit if you can't shoot.
Neither does an acog
Don't get me wrong, acog is really nice shit, but they washout like a motherfucker.
I'm not prepping for end of the world LARP, I'm shooting on the weekends and weekdays and have enough money for good glass.
Let a scope roll around all winter in your truck toolbox, and see how it holds zero.

>>

My pops bought one for his AR. I got a chance to put 300 rounds through it and zero it. Really nifty scope. If I was going to get a scope for a 20in Id grab a strike eagle.
>>
I'm thinking about getting a 3x optic, the vortex spitfire prism and Burris ar332 are what have caught my eye any other 3x reccomendations?

Where? That's a stupid good deal.

I bought a Vortex Viper PST 6-24×50 FFP in mil/mil a while back, because I was planning on getting a long gun. I wound up getting a FAL, and now I wish I had something else. God damnit.

DI Optical is a pretty good Korean optics maker whose stuff is used by Korean recon units and SF.

Their RV1 and RV2 models are ~$230, take AA batteries, and have battery lives that are comparable to Aimpoint's
>>
>>34103501

I've seen beat to shit comp M4s selling for $250 minimum before, but at $150 it's either a fake or stolen by someone who doesn't know what the fuck it is. Probably the latter.

Yea dude they steal them off mil bases and nastygirl armory's and sell it on eBay and CL.
I found a aimpoint once in the California desert east of camp Pendleton.
Found some other things too

Primary arms.

They are all the same, but the Vortex has the best warranty.

What the fuck? Are you high?
>>
>>34102130

You can get used M2 Aimpoints for $250 on Armslist on the regular.

Barring that, the SIG Romeo 4 is my favorite budget micro. The MOTAC feature is great.

>>

>>34103881
FYI, from what I can tell that's basically a rebranded Holosun as is the PA red dot. Exact same size, adjustment, features, and battery life.

MOTAC is awesome though, that's why I went for the HS403A. Seemed a better feature to buy into than the more expensive solar powered one. Maybe next gen they will have motion activation and solar power.
>>
I'm wanting to get an optic for my FAL, and I'm not quite sure what to get. I'd like something like a Comp M2 or M4, but I feel like it wouldn't do a 7.62 justice like a 1-4 power or something like that would. What do you guys think?
>>
>>34104576

Battery life on it already is like 20k hours. No need for solar even with MOTAC; it would just be added cost/weight/complexity.

The Romeo 5 is a meme optic though. That horse shoe feature is useless.
>>
>>34104631
Honestly the only reason I have interest in solar is the automatic brightness control that comes with it. But yeah, I don't think replacing a battery ever 5 years on my sight is going to be an issue.

Oh yeah, I also like the top button placement far more than the buttons on the right side like the solar ones have.
>>
>>34104030
TruGlo optics are pretty decent for the money as long as you aren't banging the optic against a tree or some shit. in a SHTF scenario I wouldn't rely on them for too long but they're great for range toys when you don't want to spend a whole glock on an aimpoint or EOTech
>>
>>34102379
Only 400 rounds? Doesn't sound like much with regards to AR's.
>>
I need an ISM-V to complete my XM8 clone, but it kills me I'm going to have to pay ACOG prices for an outdated, overweight RDS.

Aimpoint pro is best for 400$
Year 2 still the original battery.
>>
>>34105787
love mine, got a 515c because solar panel + caps and mount included. great for outdoor shooting as it can crank up the brightness when you go from shade to no shade

only real problem is if you use a flashlight in a dark room it has to be on manual mode because your flashlight points forward and the solar panel still thinks its dark
>>
>>34102130
Anybody know anything about the ATN X-Sight II? It's only $500, and looks impressive for the price.
>>
is a used aimpoint comp m2 the best ~$200 optic i can get for my ak?
>>
>>34104718
Well color me surprised. Guess I'll leave it on until I get the vortex razor gen 2
>>
>>34105599

It's new so that's all I've had a chance to run through it. That number will keep going up and hopefully the sight will hold up. Only had it a few weeks so it's definitely early returns.
