I want an RPG game with Guns and tactical gameplay. Where you're scavenging for ammo, food, resources, and trying to survive. I don't know what would be a cool setting, but it has to be in modern times with real modern weapons. Think Arma meets Fallout or something like that. The Division was looking promising, but it flopped.

Above all else, replay-ability. A shit game will assuredly NOT have that. FTL and binding of isaac are the best replayable games I've played in recent years.
Otherwise, it'll have to excel at mindless fun like DOOM or have a damn interesting story without 1000 boring repetitive side objectives to ruin it. I don't want to sit through your 100+ hour game just to enjoy the good 5-10 hours.
Far too often, attempts at realism within games = boring too, although a bit of it can make a lot of fun. Insurgency is a pretty good one. I like red orchestra too, but far too often red orchestra games are just one frustrating bottleneck till it's over.

In all honesty what I want in a shooter video game is increased rendering distance to the point that different types of firearms behave like they should. Add in increased AI spot distance and suddenly you have changed how a game is played entirely.

Open world is a must too. I understand that the graphics may not be as good with these requirements but that's something I'd willingly sacrifice.

Make guns more realistic in damage. Shooting a drum of 9mm ammo into someone's face point blank and watching their health slowly go down is extremely immersion breaking.

A mix of Doom 2016, Fallout New Vegas, and Tarkov.

Have some insanely realistic weapons and good animations, but the openness of Fallout with the faction wars and extreme amount of items and people.

Ideally I just want Fallout 6 to be really good, essentially, with the ability to rip dirty mutants limb from limb in my X-01.

Fallout will likely never attain the quality writing it once had, especially considering how many people have left Bethesda since the earlier games came out.

At this point, you only have to hope they'll add good writing in with good gameplay, but with the looks of Fallout 4, it seems they're throwing both away.

And honestly, I'd rather be able to really enjoy the gameplay and setting of Fallout than deal with the personal stories.

Though things like Caesar and his legion, backstory was cash, and I'd like more faction/leader depth than individuals.

Stories like Fallout 3 and 4 don't work because the player is not attached to the character's family in any way, so meeting your lost dad/son after dicking around in the wasteland for days seems ridiculous to the player, who gives no shits about the familial ties. Don't bother making the story personal, if the player won't connect with the personal struggle at all. Gameplay too suffers with the practical death of RPG in 4 making the game a mediocre shooter, with massive lore failures, and characters that are absolutely autistic due to shitty writing. New Vegas 2 when?

Honestly surprised we haven't had a game where you play a Wehrmacht conscript. Obviously taking place int he late stages where at first there is an organised effort but before long it's just you trapped behind Soviet lines trying to avoid capture. You'd find other trapped soldiers from different walks of life and you'd worth together just to survive.

The only issue with making a game like this somebody will politicize it rather than push a simple story of survival in war.

Squad seems pretty promising, its in between sim and arcade. 50 on 50 battles, huge map with transport vehicles. The trailer says you're rewarded for teamwork and staying together with your squad.

It's in early access right now(fuck that shit), so who knows how long they'll keep it going. I was thinking about picking up a copy after a buddy of mine recommended it. He said there's a good amount of players so far.

I don't really care who the main character is, could be a detective, hitman, or robber like in Payday, but in an open world city. The key is that setting up a heist/hit/raid takes a long ass time and meticulous/detailed planning planning is rewarded.

In all honesty, a WW2 Battlefield game, basically BF1 without the memey guns, instead replaced with WW2 guns, tanks and equipment, but heres the kicker:

Man I wish Rust did not attract such a cancerous group of kids. The simplistic building and looting system is just open-ended enough that you can do a lot with it. Guns are all unique and have a custom built feel ranging from shotguns and AKs to rocket launchers. Gun also have challenging recoil and sway that you have to manage in order to be effective with. Really nice looking randomly generate maps make each wipe feel unique. It's all there to enjoy, and then kids get on and KoS everybody including fresh spawns with no gear to people almost done building their first 2x2 base with wooden doors. You can't have a decent interaction 90% of the time with people unless you're a streamer/well-known with the server. They've been trying to fix this with recent additions like shop fronts and vending machines but it's still hard to change everybody's view of the game. Players just treat it as a glorified deathmatch.

If you play FO4 with the modern firearms mod, make your own settlement mod and on survival you can get fairly close to that. The only thing that pisses me off about the MF mod is that anyone still using vanilla game weapons are so easy, you can take out most behemoths with a couple magazines of 5.56 and all Super Mutants for some reason have sniper rifles chambered in 338 lapua or 300 winmag and can one shot kill you from 300 metres away. Adds to the realism I guess, and raiders have a good hodgepodge of AKs and AR style weapons.

What I wanted from Battlefield 1:

Keep an eye out on a game called Subsistence. Right now it's just an early access survival base building crafting game but the dev plans on making the game work like an RTS of some sort once you build a big enough base. I don't know how he plans on doing it since it's a fps but maybe it will work like you being the commander telling people what to do while you can also go out and do stuff.

This of course is my dream game and I'd kill for it. I wanted something like this in fallout four, I wanted to be able to outfit the minutemen however I want because level 50 minutemen still wear literal clothes with maybe one piece of combat armor but that will never happen. If you've played campaign in bo2 and played that mode where you can take control of a squad of people, those flying drones and the walking drones to defend or attack a location, that is what I'm going for except more ''individualism'' where I can make my guys wear nothing to raids or walk around in a chest plate with side plates and a helmet and shit. Also for a different game, I'd love something like that one mode in Lego Star Wars. You would pick a side and attack ''bases'', you could use plots on the bases to build like a building that produces droids or those tanks things and whatever, absolutely my favorite shit ever and I loved it but I don't know if it could survive on its own.

I'd honestly settle for even a half decent Rainbow Six game again.

Die hard Rainbow Six fans said vegas was the line of no return, but I still enjoyed those games so much. I didn't even bother getting the new one since Ubisoft pumps out nothing but shit and all the other Clancy games have been utterly ruined by them.

A PC remake of Rainbow Six Vegas 1 with all the maps 1 and 2 had would be perfect. Maybe allow sprinting like in 2, but for shorter duration and increase the rest time.

I just want a high budget game depicting WWII from the Axis side. No shoehorning the "muh holocaust" or "muh warcrimes" or "muh spaghetti cowards" memes, just soldiers fighting in a war and looking to go home. the MCs of their respective campaigns may rise through the ranks, but the general theme of the game and designs is average everyday grunt/conscript, no Arnolds with chiseled jaws, split chins and bodybuilder builds, just hungry, dirty, lean men fighting.

The one thing that would make it set out though, all campaigns by default are set to be voiced in their respective languages, subs are displayed in user's preferred language. Obviously this can change, but just imagine going through the entire German campaign in german, Italian campaign in italian, etc. No mulltiplayer, just focus on 3 long and hard campaigns.

-Japanese campaign: Serve aboard a ship as a navyfag or as a naval aircraft pilot, get to see an era where colossal battleships are being phased out and the pioneering of submarines and aircraft carriers as the new face of sea warfare. Also, Island hopping and shelling of beaches.

-German campaign: Start out in the early phases of the war on the Western front, against the Polish, then the swift triumphant invasion of France, mountain divisions in Netherlands, etc. Just showing the rise before the bloody fall on the Eastern Front, then the retreat and finally surrender in Berlin to Allied troops

-Italian campaign: Follow the italians in AFRICA, fighting in Egypt and North Africa against the bongs, to keep the english from securing a foothold in the "Belly of the Beast" as Churchill describes, fight in a WW2 era Baghdad in Iraq, Libya, the Middle East, El Alamein alongside Rommel's Ghost Division, defense of Tripoli, etc.

I mean, the idea isn't hard: You know how modern military shooters like CoD and BF like to take the player around different environments throughout the campaign to keep things fresh? Just apply that to WWII, but Axis side.
