As for the Jericho, they're just basically just CZ's but prettier and more Jewish. Get one if you like them, but as with nearly all handguns, try to get a chance to shoot or at the very least handle/dry fire one before you buy.

The Jericho is overall a very good clone of the CZ75, they offer them in various configs, plastic frames, steel frames, safety on the frame or on the slide, etc.

A lot of people hate slide safeties (many basing it on memes), but I find personally that the frame mounted safety on my CZ gets in the way of me reaching the slidestop, so I'd try handling both kinds.

For caliber, .45ACP works just great, though if you're new, know that 9mm and .40S&W do an equally good job, so pick the caliber you shoot comfortably (they all feel and handle differently).
