I heard this is the only gun worth getting in .40, is this true?

I enjoy my USP40c and USP9c both equally. They don't have the same recoil impulse, but the .40 feels normal and the 9 feels soft to me. The Sig P239 is another pistol that feels great in .40, although it's hard to justify the weight for carry.

I've got the 40C. Don't fire +p or +p+ through it, the muzzle flip is just too much with those loads. stick with a standard powder load.

I agree. Whenever you shoot an M&P in 9mm, you can tell it's a little overbuilt for the caliber, but it makes it quite soft shooting. This applies to their subcompacts too. The Shield in .40 will shoot softer than a Glock 27, or at least that's been my experience.

I think you just wanted to use the word "outclassed." The USP is outdated in a couple ways, but it's still a better pistol than almost anything on the market, and fitted with an LEM trigger, it is better than anything else on the market.

The only differences are the recoil spring assembly, the size of the slide and the size of the grip, which affects the magazine dimensions, although the grip is not that big on any of the USPs, IMO. Other than those aspects, they very much are the same guns.
