MD. AFAIK it's legal everywhere after that recent supreme court case that declared tasers protected by the 2nd. The counties here that banned them, un-banned them to be compliant with the ruling.

In most states the taser Is legal to carry. There is open vs concealed carry. The taser or mace is fine on your belt in some states, for instance.

The main problem with TASERs is that all of them except for ridiculously large and expensive models are single shot, and you have to wait until the shock cycle is over (which takes a few seconds) to reload them if you miss. There were some prototype multi shot designs from Russia that were a reasonable size a few years ago (including a 4 shot model the size of a Makarov), but I don't think those have gone anywhere. If you do choose to carry a TASER, I would definitely recommend still carrying pepper spray as a backup.

Just remember to consider draw time. All the gun in the world won't help you if it takes a few seconds of fumbling around to draw it.

On a related note I would love it if we could get more discussion of non gun options for carry, even if they are worse options, rather than just hearing people spout "hurr get a gun" constantly. There's no reason that certain weapons should be kept off limits for discussion on this board, especially not weapons that many people do carry today.

Theres no reason to live in MD when VA is right there. MD is one of the shittiest states in the union. On par with New York, southern California, etc.

There's tons of stuff to do. There's two major metropolitan areas withing driving distance. Plus there's the beach, and mountains only a few hours away. The schools are really good, and so are the roads. The weather is temperate, but there's no tornados/hurricanes/earthquakes that are trying to kill you every few years. The local culture and history is really cool too.
