Does anyone have a loading manual with 100gr 380acp using power pistol? The lyman one seems way lower than every other source I've seen online at 3.5-3.9gr and 3.7 only got me to 760fps vs the listed 885ish... 380 is dildos...
>>
>>34078679
Just estimate your own. As long as it's your gun and you're not absolutely brain dead you could work up your own recipe. Just gradually increase from that and get it to a velocity you want.
>>
Well, your first mistake is trying to reload 380. Secondly, you could always compare different powders and primers to see what works best for your setup. I've heard people swear by Alliant No. 9 and Blue Dot powder but it just never performed the way I'd hoped in 44 Magnum. Tried IMR 4460 and Hodgedon powders with much better results.

Also, all of the powder manufacturers have load data on their website's

Alliant's data on their site is kind of crap... They only list a 90gr projectile. I have pretty much moved to using mostly hodgedon powders because of their great reloading center data thing. 380 seems to be all over the board on powder recommendations. I have power pistol, bullseye, titegroup, HP-38, SR7625, and WSF for the gambit of 9mm and .40 loading so something is bound to work...
>>
Since this is a reloading thread I have a question

>Be ausfag
>9mm 115grain = .50c - $1 a pop
>cheap ammo is shit tier

Is it feasible to bring handloading down to under .50c a shot??
I've got no experience with handloading and I can't seem to find 9mm dies, seems to me i'd have to reload thousands before i really earn my dosh back after buying a press and rumbler etc

How cheap can I make shooting? (short of marrying one of your fine lasses for a green card and migrating)
>>
>>34078679
I want to start reloading. What equipment do i need? How much will it cost? I have a M1 Garand, an AR, a Remington 870, and a Winchester in .357 mag.
>>
>>34078869
I get raped on prices and can still load 9mm for around 6¢ each. With commercial jacketed bullets it's still only around 15¢.
>>
>>34078869
Im assuming your prices will vary a lot, but I'm loading 9mm for right around 10¢ per round with 124gr coated cast lead bullets. The Hi-Tek coating stuff actually from Australia so I assume you can get it there. My lee pro 1000 paid for itself in factory ammo price difference after 4000 rounds and after getting another tool head for 40 it's become even cheaper. You could get it done with a little single stage kit and a 3 die kit but loading for pistol on a single stage kind of sucks and kills the value.

You casting your own? I can't find non raw cast projectiles under 6.8cpr...

My wife filled out the 4473 for her little gun after not liking any of mine so I'll deal with the tiny case capacity and low pressure as long as it gets her out shooting. I hadn't bought factory range ammo in three years so $16/50 for garbage ball ammo was kind of a shock. Even using the expensive Berrys plated I'm still in around 11cpr... Thanks y'all.

>>34079169
I cast and swage for anything I can. Also looking at electroplating jackets since I have about 50 pounds of bluestone sitting in a closet.
>>
>>34079187
That sounds neat, I've only messed with powdercoating some of the sample pack of bullets I bought that would lead horribly in my glock. It's a pretty easy process as well. I've thought about casting and coating my own bullets but I'm too lazy to go out and find sources for lead.

Yes. See pic related, not including cost of brass because you can pick up so much brass off the ranges it's not funny.

>I can't seem to find 9mm dies
You what? Literally any gun store in Australia should have them, else just buy them from the MidwayAustralia eBay store. I bought the Lee Pro 1000 from them which came with the dies too.
>>
>>34079225
Also you can find the powder a few dollars cheaper for the 2kg tubs, and if you buy the primers in bulk lots of 1000 or 5000, you can reduce the cost a little bit more.
>>

Your shotgun uses an entirely different press. If you're not shooting loads of buckshot and slugs then it's not worth it. As for the other stuff:

Pistols:
>single stage press
>hand primer (if not on the press)
>loading book
>set of dies for each cartridge type
>scale
>calipers
>case tumbler

Rifles:
>everything above, plus the following
>case lube
>case trimmer
>swager for removing primer crimps

If you're being really frugal, you can get everything for under $200.
>>
>>34078953
If you're going to start reloading, get a single stage to start with. No you won't pump out a heap of rounds quickly but it's good to start with to get a good understanding.

Further down the track when you're more comfortable you can get a progressive press to reload (I assume you shoot the AR the most so you'll probably want a press purely for 223).

The 12ga will require it's own press as said >>34078953

Or you could simply buy the dies.
>>
>>34079307
I thought shotgun shells were too wide to fit standard presses...
>>
>>34079361
Standard is a tough thing. There's something like 4-5 different standard sizes for reloading dies.
Most standard presses now have a removable top bushing. Cheaper to bore a big hole straight through for the shaft and use a bushing to close the top. Also means things like the quick change bushings will work. The RCBS dies will work in any rock crusher, Hornady, or Lee with a removable 1-1/4" bushing.

I'm wanting to get into reloading what do I need and what's a good company to buy from?
>>
>>34078855
Try crimping the fuck out of it. Or ask buffalo bore what they use for their hard cast load

>>34079453
A Dillon 1050 with auto drive...
>>
>>34079214
Ask your local tire shop when you get work done or check rotometals.com

They have ingots cast from reclaimed bullets, I've been casting with it for several months now for 45 ACP and 44 mag and haven't had any issues. The BHN is a little softer than I'd like but throw in a bit of tin and antimony and you're in business
>>
>>34079453
Get LEE equipment to start learning - it's relatively inexpensive and allows you to learn the process. RCBS' single stage presses are good too, just don't go out and buy the best progressive Dillonor Hornady press you can find until you learn what you're doing

>>34078762
Damn, Beat me to it.

>Ask your local tire shop

The majority of tire weights are made of high-density polymers these days.

I want to start reloading for my guns, I want to reload for 5.56/.223, .308, 9mm and 5.7 (heard this is going to be more complex than the other listed). I was thinking of getting this kithttps://www.amazon.com/Precision-Master-Remington-Reloading-Rifle/dp/B003DO5L3Gto start out with and buy the die for the other caliber later when I get used to it. Is this a good kit to start off with?
