how do you think the internals of this thing works?
it MUST be robust enough to be in a post soviet nuclear wasteland, maybe a shorter AK design or something? I'm shit with pistols and its driving me crazy trying to find out how this thing works.
Broomhandle with an internal hammer I guess.
>it MUST be robust enough to be in a post soviet nuclear wasteland
By no means. Half the shit in those games are held together by spot welds.
>>34073432
yeah that makes sense. thanks, this shit has been driving me crazy.
Most likely your basic striker fired, blow back design.
>>34073404
Straight blow back pistol with a fixed frame and moving bolt with a an internal hammer or a striker like this anon said >>34073544
I honestly cannot see it working any other way.
>>34073404
Doesn't matter because the Nagant revolver is better anyways.
>>34073404
some manner of sliding block if its locked, or just uses a retardedly heavy recoil spring if its a blowback gun
>>34073404
something like this I assume
>>34073404
>shorter AK design
Nigga how you gonna fit a long-stroke piston and bolt-carrier in that package?
>>34073609
The Nagant revolver is not better than any gun
>>34073404
I'm more curious about this.
>>34073906
>The Nagant revolver is not better than any gun
What is Reichsrevolver for $1000, Alex
>>34073936
I feel like FO4 really took a nosedive in terms of good weapons. I just started playing it a week or so ago and there's really no gun that I like besides the 10mm pistol. The pipe weapons are all shit, I never liked laser rifles that much, the plasma guns are near unobtainable at this point (I'm level 30 and haven't even seen one yet). The combat rifle in .308 is about the best you can do, but .308 is a bitch to find in large quantities. The "assault rifle" is fucking way too big and bulky and ugly, plus I can't mod it much the way I want yet. I don't know why the fuck they thought the combat rifle should be in .45 either.
Why couldn't we just get New Vegas guns imported to the "new*" engine? They were literally perfect in terms of variety and style.
(*note: the gamer uses the same engine Bethesda always uses, and is fundamentally the same as Morrowind)

>>34074025
maybe some kind of semi-tube magazine to connect them? but anyways
>faster reloads
implies one of them's a spare that you swap in, being faster because it's right there next to the well
>>34073943
>it's a hair better than this extremely shit revolver, that means it's not reheated garbage
>>34074143
>Strawman
>Moving the goalposts
Wow, two fallacies in one sentence. You did good anon
>>34074006
I really loved the Laser Musket in FO4. The aesthetic and idea of a jury-rigged laser weapon is actually pretty cool to me. I pretty much played the whole campaign as a musketeer
>>34073404
Looks like Webley 1913 pistol crossed with c96.
Will work fine nothing unreasonable in geometry.
>>34074364
Didn't the makers of Metro hire an engineer as a consultant or something so that every gun in their game was something that could really be made and function in the real world?
>>34073404
Hey guys, what's going on in this thread?
>>34074374
No idea.
DICE hired Ian to help out with their guns and they still ended up with stupid discrepancies.
>>34073544
Bolt doesn't look heavy enough to handle .357 in a straight blowback.
>>34074400
DICE got Ian to suggest outlandish guns afaik.
>>34074347
>speaking in hyperbole makes it moving the goalposts
The Handnugget is dogshit even when it was brand new.
>>34074006
Ya bro all I used was the combat rifle, the docs add some better weapons. They kinda changed up the whole style desu.
>>34073906
Might be worse stats-wise but none of that matters because if we are just talking stats all of the pistols are shit anyways.
>>34074612
oh fuck wrong thread
>>34074518
>Claims no gun is better then Nagant
>Proven wrong
>It's just hyperbole brah!
>>34074017
>>34074126
>Forgetting to mention the obviously incompatable mag attached to the stock.
>>34074943
it's his lucky CZ mag. he carries it everywhere
>>34074955
Lucky CZ mags are great, and asthetically pleasing.
>>34074975
Why did you feel the need to upload a 3+ mb, 4000x3000 picture, Anon?
Please tell us. I'll wait.
>>34073404
thats a Bergman pistol my man
>>34074006
I'm sitting on a ton of .308 at the moment. Started playing last week on survival. It's pretty brutal.
>>34075673
I was thinking about trying survival, but it doesn't sound like New Vegas' hardcore mode. I never had a problem with fast travel, since time still passes while you're moving from place to place. I would like food, sleep, and water to be required, which would make it worthwhile to pickup purified waters and give you a reason to cook shit on the ranges. In the base game, stimpacks are thrown at you like tits at a strip club, so there's barely a reason to cook at all. Hardcore also made it useful to rent beds, since you can just wait until daytime if you need to or simply run around 24/7 without a care in the world. I know survival makes ammo have weight, which I like, but I also read it makes enemies more difficult. I think I'm on normal now, and even with my .308 combat rifle, enemies soak up bullets to a rediculous degree. If I'm walking around with less than 300 rounds I feel under prepared.
If survival added weight to ammo and made it so you had to eat and drink and sleep, I could live with no fast travel, but I'd also want weapons to be a lot deadlier. A round or two to the head and you're down, maybe 3 or 4 to the chest and you're dead. Obviously armor bumps this up a bit, but not much.
>>34075471
Because my phone takes ultra hd pictures and I cant turn that feature off.
>>34076252
I play it with a fast travel mod and a save mod. It's hard. You will spend a significant portion of your game time finding water and food, medicine from getting parasites and infections, etc etc etc
It's much better than NV's survival mode. When you first exit the vault, stray dogs will fucking murder you.
>>34073404
I love this gun
Never leave the metro without it
Literally the best gun besides the rpk
>>34076554
Same. My favorite config was the extended barrel and mag, and full auto conversion. No optics or stock needed for that in the tunnels or at close range. One BRRT and whatever you were aiming at is dead.
>>34077185
>TFW no bayonet as attachment
>>34075471
Why do you have such shit internet?
Please tell us. I'll wait.
>>34076554
The Ashot with a silencer is literally the only gun you would ever need.
>>34074404
Could be in a post apocalyptic setting the .357 loads are low pressure. Also if the slide is heavy enough it can substitute as a locked breach.
>>34077488
Boring
>>34077488
Yeah. Incredibly. If you want to go full gunslinger and shoot up the tunnels with an AK, There's absolutely no problem with that. But I'm just saying that at most ranges you'd be engaging enemies from the Ashot would oneshot everything other than a boss.
>>34077446
Since
