jarhead is probably the closest to realistic. i had two deployments as an infantryman in the army and didn't see combat until the second deployment.

I've had combat vet friends tell me that the combat sequences in Black Hawk Down are about as realistic as any they have seen in a movie. They did say that some stuff was Hollywood-ized, but overall pretty accurate.

The first 1:45 of the movie is the investigation to gather intel for the eventual Bin Laden raid and takes place over 10 years. The final raid scene was recreated as close as possible to the actual one using official research , including the time elapsed. THey did a hell of a job.
