What movies get down the military experience the best? Zero Dark Thirty checked out and seemed accurate (I was never an SF guy but considering the story and the quality of research used I'm sure they nailed it). There were parts of the Hurt Locker that had me going "That's not how it works" at several parts in the movie. I think they did an excellent job.
Restrepo
Armadillo
>>34067217
>Zero Dark Thirty
Yes, that one.
>>34067253
Restrepo sounds like a movie that will sit in my Netflix queue forever but never watch.
This can't be all of them.
>>34067276
>>34067253
Restrepo isn't really a movie. It's a documentary.
>>34067217
if you liked that movie for accuracy you must've liked the land before time for the same reason
>>34067217
ZDT is still hollywood tier and yes THL is liquid shit.
Generation Kill is only /k/ media I've ever watched where I legitimately say I can't see any fuckups.
>>34067586
Same is Armadillo but Op asked for military realism, nothing can beat reality.
>>34067606
ZDT is literal CIA propaganda. Generation Kill is really the only operator/kino/ out there.
Restrepo is a documentary the maker died making his 3rd mil.Doc
>>34067649
>90% of the movie puts the cia in a shitty light
>last 10% is the raid.
Yeah alright right on yeah pancakeman.
>>34067606
Several of the main cast are the actual marines who went and did it, fruity roody is a force recon posterboy
>>34067727
The only one from the cast who I know was actually a marine was Rudy. Who else?
The military experience?
Other than Generation Kill which has already been listed I'd say Jarhead (the original).
>>34067698
>90% of the movie puts the cia in a shitty light
Were we watching the same movie? The CIA was portrayed as heroes who do what ever is necessary in order to save the day. It doesn't matter that they tortured that guy! Look, they even got him McDonald's later in the film! Torture is justified guys, as is the CIA's budget after failing to catch a man for 10 years.

He didn't play himself though, but some other GySgt.

>>34067768
Jarhead gets shit on a lot, but it does a good job showing the feeling of being out there and just needing to bust that combat nut but getting continuously blue balled.
>>34067649
The CIA did not like this movie at all and made sure the filmmakers didnt have access to the SEALS in that raid. Read up on the story behind writing the script and what the CIA 's involvement in the movie is. Very interesting.
>>34067606
Disagree. Is there any particular scene you consider unrealistic? Or are you going to be one of those people that shit on ZDT because "muh Jessica Chastain's character doesn't exist so unrealistic"? They did a hell of a job putting that movie together as realistically as possible without incriminating anyone too personally.
>Jessica Chastain is an amalgamation of several CIA analysts who worked together
jarhead is probably the closest to realistic. i had two deployments as an infantryman in the army and didn't see combat until the second deployment.
>>34067844
>Jessica Chastain
She's hot
>>34067253
what was it with the gay stuff in restrapo ?
that scene in the kitchen smooching with the cook the line about some guy being so good looking some other guy would fuck him back in the real world
??
>>34067924
:^)
Generation Kill sums up the modern warfare experience best. A few tense and scary moments of combat watered down with endless tedium and BS.
also any israeli war movie
I've had combat vet friends tell me that the combat sequences in Black Hawk Down are about as realistic as any they have seen in a movie. They did say that some stuff was Hollywood-ized, but overall pretty accurate.
>>34067924
I'd ram my Ernie in her Burt hole.
>>34068033
Including Operation Thunderbolt?
I thought siege of jadotville was quite good. Some of the later cgi is a little off but the general action is quite well done. also who doesn't love an Irish accent
>>34067995
>you slip off her panties, revealing her puffy pink labia, accented by a well trimmed strip of red pubes
>she pulls out your already throbbing cock, stroking it slowly and licking the pre-cum off the head
>you fingers part her snatch, already glistening with wetness
>she bends over, grabs your cock and guides the head in, you begin pumping her wet gash
>she begins to buck wildly, you feel her fingers alternate between gently tugging on your balls and working her clit
>then she looks at you with fire in her eyes and hisses, "fuck my ass anon, now!!
>you pull out of her sopping wet cunt, and slide your already lubricated cock into her tight ass
>you go balls deep, pounding faster and faster until she erupts in a wild squirting orgasm, her juices spraying out, soaking the sheets and running down her thighs
>you are a redline, you pull out and she sucks you dry, your cum covering her red lips and porcelain white skin
>>34067981
Shit in the infantry is gay. Its mostly all fun and games to kill the time, be edgy, shock the prudes. Some of the guys are straight up faggots and they normally don't play well with the other kids.
>>34068278
That's not what I expected when I posted that.
I'm glad it's what I got, though.
>>34068278
pfft fag
>best interpretation of investing military assets i've ever seen.
>>34069385
I really enjoyed this movie
>>34067594
What is so unrealistic? It seems fairly squared away with all open source memoirs and reports on similar subjects.
>>34068494
>hi, .22 Plinkster here, and today we're gonna be shootin some stangers
>>34069446
i bet you're the kind of person that thinks bad boys was believable.
Am I the only one that watched Gunner's Palace?
>>34068494
That's amazing. Sucks for that crew, wonder what that bird is and where its from. I was a helicopter flightline mechanic, and the idea of stingers being shot at you is terrifying.
>>34068494
That's an SA-16, not a Stinger
>>34069590
It's a Turkish AH-1 getting rekt by a PKK fighter
t. knower
>>34067594
People keep saying this but I've never seen it substantiated except for "hurr that's not what zero dark thirty means"
>>34069529
make an argument any time
>>34067844
Its a good movie but it lacked action for me even though the last bit was cool I can only give it a 7.5/10
>>34069329
>I write a quick erotic story about fucking a hot redhead actress
>you call ME a fag
Have you ever considered that maybe you're the gay one?
>>34069430
I did not enjoy that movie.
>>34069649
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
Good job and thanks for the intel sir!
>>34069529
I forgot what I was going to say to you, sorry.
>>34069698
The first 1:45 of the movie is the investigation to gather intel for the eventual Bin Laden raid and takes place over 10 years. The final raid scene was recreated as close as possible to the actual one using official research , including the time elapsed. THey did a hell of a job.
>>34068799
t-thanks anon... I kinda have a thing for redheads, and she really revs my dick up. Pic extremely related
>>34067217
Act of Valor
The non-combat dialogue is a bit shitty at times because they're active seals instead of actors. But it's the most non-stylized, depiction of spec ops, even utilizing footage of live fire training exercises.
not military related but this scene was setup by ex SAS and shows proper technique like cover and move etc
>>34070065
That scene was fucking amazing.
>>34070078
Apparently there was some genuine butthurt from the special operations community over that movie, I guess they felt like he gave away too many details in that scene.
>>34067217
Thirteen Hours in Benghazi
>>34069970
Fucking Google image search.
>Horse
Your drunk Google, go home.
>>34068278
>what the fuck did I just read
I expected to walk the dinosaur
Restrepo has a sequel as well called Korengal. I liked them both. Hats off to those young men!
>>34070065
I remember watching this movie on a plane flight. Good times.
>>34067217
To me, capturing that deployment feeling, that "Oh shit am I really fucking here?" feeling is what makes a war movie. Jarhead, Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket did it for me. I get feels watching those movies
>>34069736
I think it was a joke
>>34067844
>Is there any particular scene you consider unrealistic?
the bin laden raid. they were pointing their guns at each other and shouting things needlessly. there are more problems with it, but it's been a long time since i've seen the movie and can't remember all the problems.
>>34067253
Korengal
Is an additional footage film of Restrepo.

It helps that Val Kilmer likes funs.
>>34067768
Training and boredom were done well in Jarhead.
