Uh any 9mm rifle. Or some pistol caliber carbine long enough for no cuck stamps. you pick, but I say anything from a hipoint 995 to a AR with a mag block. Happy hunting anon. Be mindful of your laws though.

Is that more powerful than a BB gun?

223/556 was originally built for taking out varmint. It will shoot out a good distance and kill anything smaller than a deer. It is relatively cheap compared to everything else.

But if you are shooting less than a 100 feet go with 9mm rifle or a 22. Both are cheaper than 223/556.

I'd say:

- .22 pellet gun, >$100 and ammo is dirt cheap and will take down most if not all small game

- Savage MK2, they're inexpensive and a decent .22 bolt action

- Ruger 10/22, Cannot go wrong

-Chiappa, Cheap single shot break open .22, will fit in a pack

- Keltec SU22, tacticool as fuck but is a semi automatic .22 with a factory 30 rounder and is fun as hell. Would recommend this one the least.

Everyone needs an air rifle at one time or another, so you might as well get one anyway.

Can't beat ammo price, can shoot just about anywhere, and are very dependable for dropping varmints of the size you indicate.

It will serve your purpose of killing small critters, and it's a decent cheap first gun.

But as others have said, a pellet gun should work if you live somewhere that discharging a gun could get you arrested.

If cheaper is better i recommend the beeman ram rs2 It comes with a surprisinglygood scope and trigger and it's dual caliber. .22 can easaly and ethically kill small game out to i would say about 75 yards.
