G36C is designed for an entirely different role, and although the price per unit is more, the Armed Police budget to equip one man is greater than the budget to equip one british soldier simply because of the size of the amount of Armed police compared to soldiers, not to mention each section has a uber fuckbig expensive counter IED ECM, but I'm sure you knew that as this post is bait.

Because their police didn't have a rifle designed just for them that they're still forced to use out of a sense of national pride and because they need to get a ROI on them.

Yes they do
>>
>>34068443
Primarily because most of the UK terror attacks have been the sort that are hard to intervene with. Apart from the Westminster car attack and that other attack with knives a few years ago, everything else has been through explosives. Although it sounds a bit counter-intuitive, creating a bomb in the UK is easier than getting your hands on a firearm.

Being a Britfag and having a bunch of armed police at the train station only prevents maybe a knife attack or car attack. You normally won't see a bomb coming until it's already too late.
>>
>>34067558

Impractical to holster a suppressed weapon (sidearm) for normal police duties, such as riding in a vehicle, climbing/running, or physically subduing a suspect.
>>
>>34071114

It's to give potential losers the jitters. Are you gonna risk strapping the bomb to yourself if their are substantially more police around who might notice the nervous looking young muslim with a very large backpack.

You've completely wasted your life if you detonate without reaching your target.

>Strapped with bomb
>Preparing to take out a bunch of civvies

They aren't going to sulk and take their bomb home if they can't find enough people, they're going to do as much damage as they can without being captured. If that means they only kill a handful of people, rather than the dozens they imagined, they'll still do it.
>>

It's not. You'd be able to notice the red from the hilt of the sword. The crown's shape would be distinct and easily noticeable. Whatever the shape of yellow is, it isn't the shape of a crown.

There's also a bit of brown under the yellow.

You idiots. It's got nothing to do with what will work and everything to do with convincing the public that real threats exist and only the current government can protect them.

There is a FUCKING ELECTION!

The soldiers and armed police are going to stay on the streets until a week after the election, then something useful can be done. Though if you have soldiers, you may as well have them patrolling streets instead of sitting around barracks doing drills, at least you know their kit is being regularly checked.

It's a sad fact that the officer\soldier stopping the suicide bomber will most likely lose a life, and maybe 2-3 other pedestrians around him. But it's better than not being stopped and going into a stadium, detonating, and killing 20+
>>
>>34072728
>>34072728
>Paris attacks where bunch of guys just shot into crowds with ak's.
that didn't happen in a train station, or at the french parliament, or at a tourist attraction.
Putting armed police in train stations is a completely pointless gesture, and sends the wrong message if we're being honest.
What is the likely-hood they'd be able to prevent a suicide bomber? Pretty slim. The chances are so slim that it's no deterrent at all, certainly not for someone who is completely committed to the idea of blowing himself up.
And even if it were a deterrent, it only serves to deter any would be attack away from one target and onto another. i.e, he'll blow himself up in the mall, rather than the train station.
>>
>>34072892
The authority losing their life in the process is what you hope doesn't happen, but there's still the possibility that shows of force at least may well cause the bomber to pause or second guess their actions due to the simple fact that the bomber is only going to have one chance (hurr hurrr). It's about forcing pressure on attackers as much as it is having extra eyes.
