This is the case for most of the internet's gun forums. You see people talk so much about gear but never skillset or practice. /k/ is absolutely for casuals and casual shooters.

I don't like to mention /arg/ but it's really embarrassing when you sit on your ass for an upwards of 8 hours a day talking about shit you know nothing about, posting pictures of your gear queer AR that has a pristine brass deflector and less than 1,000 rounds through it. Retards buying Geissele 2 stage triggers for a non-precision AR only because they heard Geissele is what the kool kidZ are buying and doing research on a product is for chumps. That and it was the cheapest trigger they could get that had a "G" on it.

There is a big reason for why there are very few how-to marksmanship threads. You need someone to correct your mistakes otherwise you only practice in bad habits. Much of /k/ is first gen gun owners in their family and they don't know where to go for guidance on posture or how to tell if they are flinching.

Pretty much all the types of threads he's talking about are containment, for fun, or looking for information. Do you really think /k/ would be a better place without those threads holding back the console-war tier faggotry that they contain? Or if you wanted to discuss/share info and generals or 'is x a meme' weren't allowed? The latter is helpful because you can use Poe's Law to quickly gain relevant info. And the former because it's discussion on a specific topic. I've noticed threads like these only pop up during day/k/are or summer/k/amp. Then I realized that the last time I saw Zed post was last summer. I'll let you put 2 and 2 together.
