What are some tips on purchasing my first 10/22(also my first rifle). What should I pay for it?. I'm going to take out the manufacturer trigger and put in the BX trigger, but any other changes I should make? What stock should I buy? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Just pick it up from Walmart for like 200 bucks. Trim up your bolt lock so it'll release when you pull the bolt back, instead of having to pull the bolt and push up on it. Other than that, just shoot the piss out of it.
I would get the takedown model if I were buying a 10/22. But I'm a lefty living in commiefornia, so I ended up with the savage 64fl since I'm limited to 10 rounds anyways. Nothing beats a day of plinking

I'll just bet that I end up being the only person here who gets that reference.

You don't need to buy anything for it at first. Regular/vanilla is fine, the trigger is very decent. When you've shot a couple thousands rounds you'll know what you want to change on it.
>buy some ruger mags
I'm getting my first 22 rifle and was strongly considering a 10 22 but I think I'm going to get a savage mk ii. Thoughts?

Solid rifle, with less after market, but I'm not fond of their new glock-esque triggers.

Any superior recommendations, then?

I prefer mag fed, so either 10/22 or mkII but marlin 60 is also a good gun. The henry 22 is pretty good if you're into pretend cowboy stuff but they're more expensive.
