Already had this thread yesterday

Summer. Bunch of unoccupied schoolkids who just finished school a week ago have been recently introduced to a concept that sounds kind of ridiculous if you live in a low crime suburban area, so they're memeing it up.
>>34063344
What's a truck gun?
"truck gun" is code for "road rage gun." normal people just take their CCW in their vehicle. crazies carry a rifle everywhere (except in rural areas)
>>34063379
Apparently, but it's not a meme, it's a real thing.
I use mine quite a bit in that role.
I live in a cab with a vz58 and wjq-308 shovel for months of the year.
Handy for coyotes and offloading some rage on some rocks on a rough day.
>>34063379
hey I'm doing this all by my bigboyself, I dont need shitposting help

The idea is simply a gun onhand in your vehicle (often in the door), since 4 o'clock and appendix CCW is awkward borderline inaccessible when sitting at the wheel wearing a seat belt. Since having two of the exact same gun feels a bit redundant, its gradually evolved into having small rifles like pistol ARs and AKs, so as to give it some utility over the CCW outside of the vehicle.

Made me kek. 9/10
>>34063499
Same concept as keeping a rifle in your home available for HD
Obviously you use your CC or bedside gun first but you still want to get your hands on that rifle asap, ideally before you need to engage with the pistol.
Its been memed to death but keeping a longarm in your vehicle is no different from doing it at home

Basically its a relatively inexpensive gun, normally rilfe or shotgun, that you have in your POV in case of emergency. It's only really a thing for people who live/work in isolated/rural areas, and outdoorsman/offroaders who want to keep something with them in case of aggressive wildlife or people. Cheaper home defense shotguns, and sporterized milsurp carbines are popular choices since they're inexpensive and are short enough to be maneuvered in and out of a vehicle.
>>34063644
you can't keep a gun in your car though
>>34063680
Yes I can.

What commie shithole do you live in?
>>34063344
I don't have a truck gun but I want a BMW trunk carbine. Can I do that?
>>34063380
A sporterised cheap rifle or shotgun that is put in the back of your truck, typically used on ranches or farms to kill destructive wildlife. Rarely used for self defense unless if the wildlife is aggressive (hogs, raccoons)

California, where else?
>>34063430
LMAO
>>34063680
Disregard that, I suck cocks
>>34063767
I think by law it has to be:
Black
Kept in a built-in case with fitted spots for the gun
Only handled when you're wearing leather gloves and sunglasses.
>>34064052
I'm and 200% ok with this
>>34063499
Maybe you're a farmer or other property owner, it can be appealing to have a proper gun in your truck for taking potshots of opportunity at pests and predators (if you have livestock).
Then there's the fact that police ain't showing up quick if you're out in the sticks, so having a rifle or shotgun in your car for whatever emergency might happen isn't a bad idea.
If you're innacity, having a gun as a backup isn't a bad idea anyway, if you're in a place that doesn't let you carry (work, post office, etc), having just *something* available nearby could be potentially be a lifesaver if something bad should happen.
Or maybe you're already carrying but might need a long gun, or arm someone else.
>>34063430
I thought mounting AA guns on your truck was perfectly legal
>>34064773
It is if it's a registered Machinegun or Destructive Device.
>>34063344
