The sad thing is, for all the scripting that went into STALKER, I can't fault it. There were all those side missions you could do in CoP, and I loved that. Sure, some were not as good as others, but that's alright. Nowadays you just don't have that.

The saddest thing about what you're saying is that 80's and 90's action movies (as well as the early 2000's in limited numbers) are the absolute apex of the 'art'. Look at Total Recall, Robocop, True Lies, Demolition Man, and basically any movie starring Chuck Norris! While video games are also something you're wrong about.
