Is it safe to dry fire milsurp pistols like these?

Technically it's safe to dry fire any center fire weapon. Rimfire might get damaged.
That said, use used shells or fakes just in case.

dry firing a CZ52 will destroy the original firing pin.

use a snap-cap for dry firing your gun
it snapped the firing pin off of mine

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER! I DONT CARE IF YOU JUST TOOK IT APART AND THE GUN IS OBVIOUSLY EMPTY DONT EVEN TOUCH YOUR GUN UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ON TARGET! I DONT CARE THAT YOU THINK THAT DIDNT MAKE SENSE THIS IS MY RANGE PAL
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>34058695
Only because the original firing pins were made of cheap pot metal and are just fragile to begin with

Dropped, would not buy a P64
>>34059764
you shouldn't anyways, it's no fun to shoot
reminds me, I gotta sell mine

I have a p64 and dry fire it a bit, it's the only way to train around that hilariously bad DA. Only buy it as a range toy. I got mine as a potential pocket carry and while I'm sure it would do ok, it's either a 17lb gritty as fuck DA or a 1 1/2lb SA with the wolf springs it came with. I don't like my only options to be "damn near impossible to pull trigger correctly" and "literally goes off trying to get my finger in the trigger guard".
My CZ 82 I've dry fired thousands of times and even my mosins I've put a few hundred dry fire rounds on. Just make sure you inspect your firearm and know a bit about how it's made. Some, like a cz52, won't do well and can break, but most are fine.
And never ever dry fire rim fire firearms or old striker fired double barreled shotguns.

Do you have a Makarov? How much heavier is the P64's DA pull compared to that?

>buying snap-caps
Just spend 5 minutes and make your own.
