4-5 years ago, I'd have said the Mosin. Now I'd probably say the 1911, or revolvers in general. As much as I love shooting and handling and hiking with a revolver, and even though there are good reasons to own at least one or five revolvers, people who hype their reliability are doing it mainly to justify their choice, when what they really want is to feel unique.

The cheap versions aren't great but work, and you can spend up to thousands getting one built... but its still the same thing.

It has a major competitor that is less fragile and easier to use with no training, its major competitor also needs less maintenance to function properly.

"but muh training"sure, it might be better than its competitor in the hands of someone with years of training, but 99.99999% of the people who say this have little/no training with it, definitly not enough to say the other is definitively better.

The AR is the Katana, the AK is the broadsword/long/sword/double edges european sword.

Both are great, one isn't definitively better than the other, and the argument over which is better will last for all time.
