I intent to travel to the US in Fall or Spring.
As I live in germany without the time and money for a shooting club, I want to use the occasion to experience some lead based Freedom.
Any tips ?
Locations, states, general or other.
Thx
>>
dont go to the east or west coast
texas is nice but hot and people will get mad at you for going slow even though youre going 70 in a 50 mph zone
>>
>>34054872
>don't go west coast

Outside of Portland and Eugene, Oregon is a free state as far as guns are concerned, tons of ranges and public land to shoot on, most people outside of Portland are armed and even in Portland most people are armed, its a beautiful state that does a good job at containing all the liberal horseshit to Portland and Eugene
>>
>>34054915
I hope that continues. I'm about to gamble the rest of my life on it.
>>
>>34054848
Please just move here, we need more whites in this country.
>>
>>34054848
Michigan has great gun laws, high percentage of German ancestry and a love for Wurst, solid local brewed beer EVERYWHERE, and some pretty good gunranges

But

If you want some outside shooting, look up the state game areas. Yankee springs and Allegan state game area are what I use, and you can go innawoods and target shoot to your hearts content. Even hunt pretty much anything small game if it doesn't have a season with a 20$ license.

Or go to the upper peninsula, lots of open state land.

Regardless, hope you enjoy it here. I think you'll have fun in the US, and expect a barrage of excited questions from plenty of people.
>>
>>34054848
will you have a rental car? wherever you go you will probably need a car. If you end up on the socialist coastal states you will need to drive to Pennsylvania on the east and Nevada on the West.
>>
>>34054937
If i ever get the chance, I might.
>>
Las Vegas is a great place to go shooting. Several ranges there have full automatic rifles that you can use there at the range (you can't take them with you, though). I've been to American Shooters near Vegas Chinatown and it's a nice place with reasonable prices. Don't forget also to check out the 5.11 retail shop right across Route 15 from the Strip.
>>
>>34054967
This is a good option, to be honest. I really hate vegas, but I'm not so autistic that I can't see other people enjoying it. This anon raises a good point.

Generally speaking though, if you aren't going any place in particular, I would avoid the east coast entirely. Unless you have a real hardon for American history (and I can't imagine you do) there's nothing great about it. Eastern seaboard is a massive suburb.

Personally, I'm partial to coastal regions. Since east coast is right out, and California shouldn't even be mentioned guns wise, that leaves Washington and Oregon. Pretty great for alot of reasons. Beer, mountains, coffee and guns
>>
>>34054934
>I'm about to gamble
Seriously, don't bet on Oregon. You will regret it.

>>34054872

>>34054848
The coasts are fine for a visit assuming you don't intend to live there. Just figure out which states you want to visit beforehand and google there are ranges near where you'll be that do machine gun rentals or whatever you want to do. Most states allow this, even if you're not a permanent resident.
>>
>>34054848
Idk what gun laws concerning Class III weapons are like for non-citizens, but I doubt there's much differences State-wise for gun-loving States.

If you go to Arizona or Texas you'd probably be able to rent and shoot anything available to foreigners.

I'm not sure if you're interested in AZ, nothing too great here tourist wise EXCEPT The Grand Canyon. If you love hiking, you HAVE to come see it ^^

If you don't want to go the The Grand Canyon, maybe visit like Nevada. Las Vegas/Reno for gambling if that's your thing on vacation. Reno also has a lot of outdoor activities to do near it as well as Lake Tahoe.

Just don't visit like California and expect anything rental-wise. I don't even think you can rent something there unless you go with a party of 3.

Depends on what type of scenery you'd like, man. The US is pretty vast, and as such, you can pick and choose, with the constraint of good gun laws. Personally, I'm from Norway, I live in AZ and shooting here is cheap, easy and plentiful. I would recommend coming in early spring though as 40+C might get a bit nasty if you're used to Berlin.

Wollte den Scheißstand immer mal besuchen, vor allem da die einigen echt seltenn Scheiß zu haben scheinen, sieht allerdings sehr teuer aus.
>>
>>34054848
TX here, just go to any gun range, not a problem in the south, don't know about the blue states though
>>
>>34054848
Washington state is absolutely gorgeous. We got snow-capped mountain ranges, deserts, the Puget Sound, etc. Gun laws here are (far) better than California, but not as good as in free states. Despite that, there are still public ranges pretty much everywhere where you can rent guns to shoot.
>>
>>34055553
I give it less than 10 years and WA and OR will be just as bad as CA, You aren't even safe in ID, NV or AZ either. 20 years and those places will fall.
>>
>>34055424
Honestly, if you get more and more republican voters into Multnomah county you could tip the scales, its that cancerous county that dooms Oregon to vote blue in every election

white flight is destroying the west coast more than anything. Also pic related is hilarious.
>>
>>34054848
If you come through to NY (about an hour north of the city) I'll show you some good shooting.
But yeah, stick to Eastcoast Beastcoast or Westcoast Bestcoast.

Perfectly fit for an Italian then. Ask a certain Texan ex-motogp rider
>>
>>34054848
I live in Tennessee, and it's pretty cool. Lots of stuff to do in Nashville, and a super pro guns environment (minus East Nashville, hipster city)

Lots of good food (hot chicken), music (more thank country), and women are aight. Lots of ranges here too
>>
I'm sure you could find a range with rental guns in just about any free state, so don't feel like you have to decide trip destination based solely on guns.

That being said there are some alternatives if you want something more than static range shooting...

My first choice would be something like:

http://www.helibacon.com/texas-helicopter-hog-hunting/

But I don't know about the legalities for a foreigner.

Other choices:

Kentucky is just behind those three on best gun laws. I think it's at #5, only being held back by no constitutional carry (though you at least can carry openly without a permit, so there's that).

I love my state.
>>
>>34054872
Yes come to the scenic middle of fucking nowhere, check out our cattle- behold the majestic corn field! If you look closely you can see the tallest building in the midwest, our water tower.

South east is best.
>>
>>34054967
seconding vegas, there are a ton of options for visitors to shoot because it's part of the tourism economy. outdoor, full-auto, whatever. weather is nice during the fall and spring, but this year the later in the fall will be better. our summer is going to suck and probably last a while. not sure how spring will be next year.

if you're traveling in the off season rooms will be cheap. once you're off strip dining is cheap and bomb.

if you don't want to pay tourism prices, you could try and find a pen pal to take you to one of the local desert shooting spots.

and once you get your shooting in there are plenty of national parks within driving distance. zion, red rock, stuff in cali. LA and SD are 4-6 hours away if you wanted to spend part of your trip there too.
>>
>>34054945
2nd for Michigan. If you are in western michigan, you are more than welcome to shoot my guns. I belong to a range, so a place to shoot is no problem
>>
>>34054872

Hey that's my local gun store. A shame transfers cost a lot, need to find a cheaper place.
>>
>>34054848
Come to North Alabama(Huntsville), where you can enjoy the peaceful and cheap fudd life and for when you feel like enjoying some city life and liberal activities, Nashville is less than 2 hours away. I'll take you out shooting for free too, just buy me another case of ammo if we eat through it all.
>>
>>34059201
i've had good experiences with bargain pawn in NLV, but the guy we used to buy from left the store.

davidson's used to be $20, and they've always been really nice whenever i call them or go to the store.

it's nice having so many stores around town.
>>

Is Vermont that based?

>most liberal states in america
>Vermont
Wha?
>not even listing california
Double wha?
>>
>>34059820
Thanks, it's great to have other options. That M1928 Thompson at American Shooters sure is a looker though.
>>
>>34060130
i haven't been down there in a while, i'll have to check it out next time i'm around chinatown.

I'm near St Louis, you can stay with or near me. Ranges and innawoods here.

Despite guns and weather, why would a Norwegian move to the US? Legitimately asking.
>>
>>34055749

>(hot chicken)
>>
>>34060011

Yes, Vermont is that based.

CA has many conservative voters. It is the place that produced Ronald Reagan; Prop. 8, and Richard Nixon.

It is still very liberal, but it's not Top 3. It just happens to have very, very stupid gun laws and very stringent environmental laws.
>>
The New England states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont is the best area in the country and, dare I say it, the world.
>>
>>34054848
If you're in Colorado, you can come shoot my small collection of guns.

Brought two Chinese guys and a German grill shooting, it was hilarious and fun.

Realistically, find a gun range that rents guns, then rent whatever guns you want to shoot. Pay very close attention to the safety instructions.
>>
>>34054848
Pennsylvania should be your first stop, maybe hit virginia and DC but theres no value in anywhere else east coast

TX and all surounding states are basically empty expanses of bumfuck farmland with zero value

Visiting the Grand canyon, northern AZ, and parts of CO are basically the best natural attractions to see in the US

And finish up in northern California into oregon, get blazed and commune with some of the most beautiful primordial forest areas on the planet
>>
>>34055741
IDK senpai, free money and a victim complex must be pretty appealing
>>
>>34063201
Ps: aberdeen proving grounds in MD has a godlike weapons museum showcasing literally every military weapon from all nations of the last 100 years, vehicles, artillery, german railroad gun, hilariously huge naval guns, etc. If /k/ made religious pilgrimmages it would be to this museum.

Also I only listed PA, VA and DC for the historical sites, museums and battlefields. Franklin institute being a big one but also rrvolutionary war stuff
