I've been so wet and muddy for so long with no reprieve that I could not pull the charging handle on my M4 before. Most people will probably not have this problem. "In a survival situation" is relative. Most people will simply choose to die instead of putting themselves and subsequently their rifle through mud and moisture for weeks and they certainly wont be taking their "Families" through the same. I'm personally partial to the AK, but for the average american consumer, they would benefit from the plus sides of an AR15 and they won't wind up seeing the down sides.
