Ar-7 's have reliability and quality issues, apparently.

Badgers aren't a bad way to go, but Savage also.makes a takedown rifle that is an over/under .22/20ga which seems like a good idea.

Look up TNW firearms. They do a quick and easy breakdown survival rifle. Originally it was for small craft pilots in the event of wilderness crash landing... at least that's what the fudds at the store told me.

It didn't feel cheapo.
