Hey /k/ looking for a new CCW pistol. local pawn shop has a VP9 for 449. anyone know anything about these guys? i know they are slightly larger then a Glock 19 but was just trying to see if you all think its a good buy
>>
>>34050270
Vp9s are alright nothing to special about them, pretty small aftermarket.
>>
>>34050325
its either this or a sig 2202
>>
>>34050343
I think the Sig 2202 would be a better choice and i own a Vp9.
>>
>>34050354
what dont you like about the vp9
>>
>>34050270
The VP9 is a full-sized pistol. It's huge and you can't use it when it rains.
>>
>>34050354
if u think the sig is better than the vp9 then why didnt u buy the sig
>>
Get the VP9. Better trigger and ergonomics by far. SP2022 is still a good gun though.
>>
>>34050270
They are great guns and they are super easy to shoot. I miss mine that I sold since it was the most accurate gun I shot and I did nothing to the trigger.

You are going to see people shit on their aftermarket. A good gun only needs holsters, ammo, night sights, and magazines. All of those things exist for the VP9. That price is a fucking steal jump on it.
>>
>>34050709
It falls right between a G17 and a G19. They are very carryable.
>>
>>34050709

This is all bullshit except it is a full size.

I love mine more than any other gun I own
>>
The vp9 is a great gun, but they just came out with the vp9sk. If youre looking for a carry gun why not get the compact version of the vp9
>>
>>34050270
I am not a huge fan of the slide release on the VP9, it's almost flush to the top half of the gun. Aside from that, they're great guns and more so for that low price. I'm trying to decide between a VP9 and a G19 Gen 4 as my first real "carry gun", since I can get them for the same price through my crappy student job. For $400, which one is objectively better aside from the trigger?
>>
>>34051538
You mean slide lock?
>>
>>34051580
Whatever you want to call it
>>
>>34051646
I mean, I call it my slide lock. I use it to lock the slide. There is no slide release? Pulling back on the slide, via the dovetails (provided) will disengage the lock and send the slide forward.
>>
>>34050270
The VP9 is too large for what it is. It's the size of the Glock 17 yet has only the Glock 19's barrel length and magazine capacity. If you want to CC, the Glock 19 or Walther PPQ are a better choice. I don't have a ton of experience with the VP9, but I remember that there was something uncomfortable about the trigger guard that made me immediately dislike the gun. Apart of that, it looks really cool (it looks way better than Glocks or PPQs), it has an excellent price tag, it's accurate, and the trigger is nice. Nothing to say about reliability. A thing I'd check if I were you, would be the availability of quality holsters.

Maybe look for the SK version
>>
>>34051646
>>34051660
The problem I had and why I sold it was that my thumbs forward technique would hold the slide release down. It is designed to be used as a slide release so thats what its called btw.

Other than that as long as you get the night sights model its a great gun.

>>34051946
No it isn't, it is in between the size of a g19 and a G17. They are very concealable.

I have experience with both the G19 and the VP9, and I will say that the VP9 is better than the G19, though for carry he should get the SK model.
>>
Since 1993 it's common knowledge that: "Lose that sissy pistol. ... Get yourself a Glock."
>>
>>34050270
Consider the p30 series, vp9 is the striker version of it made purely as an afterthought to grab some meme sales from glock
>>
>>34050270
>but was just trying to see if you all think its a good buy

See if you like the paddle magazine release first. iirc, they are also releasing a subcompact and standard VP9 with a button magazine release.
>>34050709
fuck off retard

>>34050270
It's fine, the trigger I tried was not awful but I heard QC on them at H&K is kind of ass so you might get a bad one. Detail disassembly is a complete bitch. The bad reliability meme is probably not true.

Like others here suggest, consider the p30, or a different striker if you insist on that.
>>
ive been a fan of M&P shield but really been thinking about going revolver lately, know next to nothing about them.
>>
>>34051288
thanks anon. going friday to pick it up. its the LE version too i believe
>>
>>34052160
i mean the biggest incentive here is the price. I mean 450 for this or be forced to spend 600 plus on most other options
>>
>>34050270

ruger sr9c

awesome trigger
>>
>>34053046
Thats good, it comes with simple nightsights. The only thing you should need is a few more mags, maybe a holster, and ammo. If you have never carried before you will also need a good gun belt. Thats for another day and another thread, just go shoot the thing.
