It wasn't quite up to par with its contemporaries but it's still a decent, fun rifle. The sights are really nice and I like the traditional rifle feel.

They're accurate and durable.

Before someone spergs about "accuracy," it's an old school infantry rifle. 2-4moa is acceptable. Many perform better.

They're legal in some states that hate gun freedom, the Garand-style action's good-looking, and you can live out your Vietnam/GWOT fantasies. I'd probably get an AR10 if I was going to be living in a state with laws that didn't suck, but since I am, I'm probably going to try to appreciate what I can get that doesn't end up looking like an abortion.
