Except the part in the OP where I already did. I sat in the selection room all day, missed a whole day of work, was not selected, and then got another summons a month later. They never stop, my mother has been in this same feedback loop with the county court for at least 7 years now.

I always wanted to be picked for a jury but I know I would never make it to a criminal trial due to working for LE.

I can only hope for a civil case.

I get paid at work to go to jury duty, so I would love to not have to deal with fudds and mall ninjas for a few days on an entertaining case.

I almost got to sit in as jury. Was called in for jury selection for 2nd day. Was dismissed. Probably becuase I seemed like a dumb ass when all the other prospective jurors in my pool were fucking attorneys and professors.

All you have to do is have strong opinions on any of the questions they asked you during voir dire and you'll be dismissed.

Here in Florida it goes one of two ways:

1) Go in 8 am, be cooperative and answer what questions they ask without sperging out, get picked for jury, go home by 10 am to come back for trial a day or two later. Get to listen to a case, maybe learn something about the legal system, and serve as a check on the system making sure the prosecutor has the evidence needed to deprive someone of their right to freedom or some plaintiff in a civil case isn't a lawsuit-happy jerk trying to pull a fast one. Then enjoy not having to get another jury summons for at least a year.

OR

2) Go in at 8 am, yammer on about your piss poor reasons for why someone else should have to do the job, look like a spoiled brat who wants to buck even the reasonable requirement that he not carry a firearm in the actual courthouse, convince everyone you meet that pro-gun, limited government folks are a bunch of whack jobs, fail to get selected for the case you're being asked about, then GET SENT BACK DOWN TO THE JURY POOL to try again for the next case on the docket, where you'll pull the same shit, don't get selected, repeat a few times, leave the courthouse at 5 pm when the last case is picked, then get another jury duty summons a month or two later to try again.

I can tell you this, if more pro-gun types were on juries, instead of acting like hyper-opinionated fucks trying to get out of jury selection, prosecutors would change how they handle self-defense and Stand Your Ground cases and such, and quit pandering to the liberals who do show up and go through jury selection.

It's like not voting because you can't open carry at a polling place, and thereby helping the anti-gunner candidate take the election.

If you can't stand up for your rights in the polls and in the courts, why bother to stand up for them at your front door?

Have last name begin with one of the last letters in the alphabet, never ever even get asked questioned in the jury pool, they never make it that far down the list. Neither have mother, father, and brother with same last name. All of them just lose a day of work and get a summons next month. No other potential jurors because a majority of the county are felons. Wash, rinse, repeat every few months. I actually refused to register to vote for years because I didn't want to get pulled into the feedback loop like them. Registered last summer, get summons week after election. So get down off of your bootlicking pedestal and realize I have no obligation to subject myself to this futile bureaucratic hell AGAIN. Not sure about your state, but in the two I've held CC permits in, the paperwork you sign saying you agree to is that among other places you can't carry in a courthouse. Refusing jury duty because you want to carry in a courthouse violates your agreement and i wouldn't be shocked if they pulled your license because of it. Easier ways to get out of jury duty

Just had jury duty today which is a coincidence. Sat in jury selection for a felony possession of a firearm case and got eliminated from the jury. They asked us who owned guns and most of the people that raised their hands were eliminated. Got to go home 30 minutes later. Wasn't that bad of a time.

If the serving lawyers can be impartial, I see no reason to remove them from the pool. My case was a DUI case and as I recall, one of the serving attorneys were practicing environmental law and the another immigration law. I recall the specific of other, but I remember those two specifically since they were asked to explain their field of practice in much more detail that the others.

Now, I don't know if they ultimately were chosen, I only know that they were selected and not asked to leave for far longer than anyone else. I didn't stick to the end and left was asked to leave.

It's not because they are biased, in fact a lawyer is more inclined to be impartial - it's because you just let a fucking lawyer loose on a room full of 12 people - a Juror who is an attorney would be the most powerful person in the trial bar none. He knows about Jury Nullification. He knows how to hang a jury. He can break down in depth the arguments of the prosecution and defense to the jury after the arguments and he can sway the jury after evidence is presented.
